Post your Promise Collection wins!
Frisco Larson replied to GreatCaesarsGhost's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
I managed to snag a Promise book for my collection last night! Compared to the crazy multiples I've seen them going for, I did pretty well price-wise. Not a "deal" by any means, but not crazy multiples either. Happy to have one! -

Amazing Spider-Man Collecting Thread!
Frisco Larson replied to Point Five's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Thanks! I dig Doctor Strange as well and I too have, as yet, been unable to justify the loot for Strange Tales #110 when he's not even on the cover. It'll have to be the right copy, the right way. -

I have a pic of my 32 but not my 42. I bought this 32 in an original owner collection in the mid 90s. I did have it pressed and graded at a Chicago show sometime in the mid 2000s. I should get a better pic of it at some point. It's really nice in hand. -

I have been very fortunate to obtain some pre Centaur art pages (technically Ultem.) from comics that would later become Centaur Comics. This seems like the place to post them. Star Comics #1 cover dated Feb 1937 Artist: Fred Schwab Story feature: Riggin' Bill Also a pic of how it appeared in the comic.

Ha! I ALMOST typed that! An awesome issue and quite a copy to have! I love the White Mountain books! I think I only have just this one book from that pedigree (sorry, it's not a Spidey). -

I realize that this isn't a title that anyone would consider popular or in demand, but Silver Age cover art is largely VERY expensive, so to acquire any at all is a real treat for me. I hope it finds some level of appreciation here.
