  1. Bad scan (I've got a new scanner on the way) but cool book...
  2. Thanks, I'm really happy about it. 9.2 isn't the target but the hole is filled at an acceptable level
  3. This issue is still broken. Hey CGC! I will fix this for you! I've been building sites for 20 years, have been a professional web developer since 1999, have written three books on web development (For WROX and O'Reilly) and have extensive Angular JS experience. I mean, not for free , but it doesn't look like it's going to get fixed via the regular development effort so you can hire me for a day and I can make this issue go away. I mean, I can replicate it easily enough
  4. It doesn't show up on the form. I called because of the same issue. It's applied at the accounting level.
  5. I haven't gotten it yet. That book was a long wait. I bought it on ebay for $10 and then it went to CCS > CGC and it just shipped on Thursday.
  6. I posted this into the Daredevil #1 thread: Also... I knew it was probably maxed out at 9.2 and I was right. Still, I was hoping for magic. Still, I don't have a hole at #86 anymore and will have something to sell if I need to break the bank for the ComicConnect copy. 001 Daredevil 86 4/72 Marvel Comics Universal 9.2 WHITE Gene Colan and Tom Palmer art John Buscema and Frank Giacoia cover

  8. Is that even real? 11 feedback seller, selling the same copy that sold in December.
  9. I like the new boards (full stop.) I do this stuff for a living (at a very high level) and this is a much better, much more modern design. I have some issues with it, but I believe a lot of the negative reaction is down to change aversion. This reaction (burn it to the ground!) is very common when you have a long-time, passionate user-base.
  10. As an aside... is there a White Mountain copy of this book? Any other pedigrees?
  11. I am still getting this issue myself. If I were running this project a bug report like this would be a blocker. I can't fill out the form in Chrome. I have to switch to Firefox. I can still get it done, but having the form not function in the latest Chrome is kind of nuts.
  12. Running a scan of the site there are a bunch of areas where the contrast is too low (click on contrast in the left-hand column.) The main body text isn't identified, but it's a smallish off-black font on a light grey background. That's not a color/font choice I would make for this user population (it includes a lot of older folks.) http://wave.webaim.org/report#/https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/410146-a-few-boards-tweaks-to-note/
  13. My guess is that one of the big drivers is that they wanted a site that worked well on mobile phones and tablets. The old layout was created almost two decades ago and didn't play well with the multi-device environment we operate in these days. As someone who does this stuff for a living, it's insane to me that the layout here hadn't changed in all that time. This layout is new in both the new-to-us sense and in the "new" sense of being an actual modern design. It's not perfect (nothing is) but it works on a phone, which makes me happy. What we're experiencing is something that happens whenever anyone with a loyal fanbase makes a design change. It's called change aversion and it happens with everyone all the time with every redesign. If your users don't hate your redesign, you don't have any users. Two things will happen- we'll get used to it and the design and features are going to be tweaked. It'll be great. Different, but great.
  14. This crazy lot is closing tomorrow: Comic Books: 61 Keys, 1st Appearances, Anniversary Issues & Other Awesome Books

  16. Thanks! The 4th 9.6 AF15 does something to counteract the crazy price that 9.2 sold for. And... the Superman #1 7.5 got an upgrade
  17. Undervalued as a comparison to the other 2 situations ! AMS #1 highest or second highest graded seems to be 20 percent of the cost of a similar graded Amazing fantasy #15 But the other two #1's (Batman & Superman) seem to be in the 30 percent or higher range as compared to there first appearance counter parts. Its hard to have exact data on the golden age copies they are much rarer. What would an 8.0 Tec #27 sell for in this market? What would an 8.0 Superman #1 sell for? This is tough comparison to make. Here's what I think of the values ( detailed discussion is available here) Best Action #1 (Church/Dentist's copy): $7,500,000 Best known Supeman #1 (Dentist's copy): $3,000,000 Best Detective #27 (Allentown/Dentist's copy): $6,500,000 Best Batman #1 (Church/Dentist's copy): $1,500,000 Best AF #15 (3 9.6s) $1,250,000 Best ASM #1 (1 9.8) $500,000 (but could go higher because it's single highest graded) Superman #1 is SO DIFFICULT in high grade and Batman #1 is so (Relatively) easy, the ratios are meaningless.
  18. I don't think a Silver Age book that has sold for over a quarter million dollars (2nd highest graded!) could ever be considered extremely undervalued.
  19. Why am I doing this? Because I can Get this stuff out of my house! 1 lot. 61 books. They're all keys, 1st appearances and other fancy books. http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/122341181584? 20. Wow. I must have seen thousands of copies of that book at this point and never found a price variant. Congrats on that one.
