  1. Well, if you are going to put yourself out there and offer a whole dollar each... I wasn't the one who first valued them at $1....and the offer is for all of them. How many buyers do you know who will do that...? My mistake. I thought a standing offer of $1 for "all of them", meant you were willing to buy "all of them from anyone". I stand corrected.
  2. Up to a whole dollar each? I'll hold on to my stash. Thanks for the offer though.
  3. Does this all relate to the first appearance of a Dr. Strange in Thrilling Comics #1, circa 1940?
  4. Do you know why the Avengers movie did not feature Loki using a lot of magic in it, and instead, he did a lot of hand to hand combat? Or used his "glow stick of destiny" to shoot things? Magic is boring. P.S. I have only watched one Harry Potter movie, and there is a reason for that. A movie with sword fighting and sorcery, will always feature more sword fighting than magic. Sorcery movies are ALWAYS accompanied with swords. How would that work with Dr. Strange? Because magic/spells/incantations/etc., are boring. Just for fun. See if any of these tickle your fancy. http://www.popmatters.com/post/175033-the-10-greatest-movies-about-magic-and-magicians/
  5. Her and I have the same birthday. May 14th (different years of course).
  6. Even better than a high grade book, signed. Having a high grade book signed, is sad, IMO. Unless it is a new modern. Then who cares.
  7. I recently sold 17 copies raw of 361. 12 copies of 362 and 9 copies of 363, on the boards here, in about 9.6 condition. For $2.00 each. And it was not a fire sale. I just wanted to make a few people happy. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7477140&fpart=10 People just want too much for their books. They are moderns.
  8. "Boner" used to mean "mistake" or "foul up". When I was a kid.
  9. A few more I found lying around, in the way. I have a couple of these. Both pair of classes are still inside.
  10. No, I don't have Straight Arrow # 1 yet Found mine finally.
  11. I'm pretty sure I have one. I will try and find it.
  12. Don't think I've ever posted this here. I'm a sucker for bright yellow covers.
  13. I feel I am a better man for having read this thread. Thank you for the journey to here.
  14. I sent this rough old girl to Joey and then off to CGC via a coupon submission. It was verified 4/8/14 , so hopefully I'll have results by the end of the month.Care to guess the grade? I'll post a scan of the slab when I get it. Maybe the comic gods will shine on me as they did Philreal! (thumbs u 4.0 cream to off white
  15. A very pleasant transaction. Quick, and a gentleman all the way. Thank you.
  16. Can anyone name a dumber looking superhero than HARLEQUIN? Looks like a cross between a clown and a ballet dancer.
  17. Pretty much what I said was likely the final outcome of this. But I am troubled about what "removed from the market" means. If CGC does end up buying the book. Why not make a final determination that it is a purple label, and sell it that way. To recoup some of their purchase costs? Or is it such a hard thing to ascertain that it is trimmed, that it may slip past them again in the future? I would think that this specific book would now be scanned and documented, with pictures hanging on the CGC walls, stating "trimmed" in bright orange letters. Like those list of names on store cash registers that state "no checks from these people". But what do I know. I don't grade thousands of comic books a year.
  18. I haven't heard a peep I don't really expect to I think CGC will address this in public, not via PM with you. CGC is in discussions with the buyer I don't understand why they aren't in discussions with YOU. You're the guy that got hosed... An attempt o get the book returned for "correction or re-evaluation", obviously. Wouldn't be a need to discuss things with Spider Dan, if the book is actually determined to be trimmed.
  19. I would expect otherwise. Something like a public statement that "We are in contact with all parties involved, and we are working on a solution. We are also ascertaining where the screw up occurred, so that measures can be taken to avoid a similar situation in the future". Time will tell.
