  1. What is the consensus on selling a couple of Bat 227's now? If someone did not need the money, but wanted to maximize the profit. Sell now, or hold for short while longer, or hold for the long haul?
  2. We should start a "Confession Thread". We could come clean and be forgiven. Start with a clean slate.
  3. Unbelievable really. Maybe I should start investing in comic books.
  4. I'm sure I have one or three of these. Gonna look for them soon.
  5. Bought 15 more raw Tecs and Bats. Again they were under-graded and over packaged. Very quick delivery also. Thanks very much GT.
  6. I have been wanting this book, and waiting for this book, for a long time (as have many of us, obviously). I am glad I did not pay in advance. This reminds me of the Anthony Castrillo fiasco. A lot of interest, hope and desire. But alas....
  7. Bought one slabbed book and three raw books. The raw books were under graded and over packaged. Excellent transaction. I will be buying more.
  8. I know many are more forgiving than I. In my world. You rob a bank. Then you should not be hired to be a bank teller. Just common sense. Or is that how you would run a bank?
  9. I am more of a "no second chance" kind of guy. But it depends on if someone just made a mistake, or if they did the bad thing intentionally. We all make mistakes. But a mistake and an intentionally bad deed are two different things. What is that old saying? "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me".
  10. I am shocked at how few GL 76's there are listed in this thread. Shocked! This forum is a who's who of comic book collectors, and this is all we have for this book? Shocked I tell you!
  11. I was notified today (11-13-13), that my claim against SuperbeastCraig thru PayPal, was ruled in my favor and I will receive a refund of all my monies in the next five days. They said that they were able to recover the money from SuperbeastCraigs account. They list his name as Timothy Dillon. But information posted on here, indicates that may be just one name that this person goes by. So, all is good on my end I guess.
  12. The probation list shows Superbeastcraig. It would be correctly "SuperbeastCraig". Capital "S", small "b" and capital "C".
  13. Wow. I totally get the idea of personal responsibility and common sense but for the life of me I can't understand why we don't institute some simple form of control on new sellers here. 100 posts and 1 month on the boards or a member with significant post count vouching for a new seller would make this a safer place and give a new seller a chance to learn about our selling rules and board culture. I only have one experience with a bad transaction on here. But I will re-state what I have stated previously. My bad transaction was with a seller that had about 134 posts, and had about 1 1/2 years as a member here, when I did my transaction with him. So...., your idea may indeed cut out some of the riff-raff. But it sure isn't gonna stop it all. I actually think that it works fairly well here now. But I have been thinking that a mandatory statement disclosure in each and every sales thread posting, with something like: "Buyer Beware: do some basic research on each and every seller, before sending money for item/s. Ask for references if the seller is new to this forum. DO NOT send amounts over $100.00 to anyone that you are not already familiar with their reputation and standing in this community. Always pay using PayPal, and accept no excuses which extend your waiting time for your item, that would extend you past the deadline for making a claim with PayPal in case your item is not received in a timely manner." Or something like that. I am sure you get the idea. A statement that automatically appears on every first post put on here, in every sales thread.
  14. I sent a PM (my second one since I paid), to SuperbeastCraig on 11-2-13. It is titled "Where is my Batman #200?" I simply stated in the body of that PM. "I am putting you on the "probation list", if I do not hear from you immediately." That PM, and my PM asking where my book is on 10-19-13, are both still listed by this site, as "unread" by SuperbeastCraig. PayPal has this "claim" listed as "pending". I understand they have attempted to contact SuperbeastCraig and are wating for a response. I believe they wait ten days, before considering my claim.
  15. If SuperbeastCraig has not been officially put on the Probation List. It needs to be done now. Have not received my book that I paid for on October 1st, nor any response to my attempts to communicate with him via PayPal or PM.
  16. Having listened to many sides of this debate. I have decided to vote "no". IMO, this sites sales forum is about as good as it can get, already. So, caveat emptor y'all.
  17. I have not voted yet. I am considering the pros and cons. But I would like to mention that SuperbeastCraig (the guy that ripped me off), at the time of my purchase. Had well over a year on the boards, and well over 100 posts. Didn't deter or stop him. I know that no system will be perfect. But "buyer beware" seems to work fairly well here. As does "always, always, always, use PayPal. Unless you know the seller well. There are many here I would send apersonal check or money order to. But I would only use PayPal, when dealing with those not long established and well respected here. So, in a nutshell. Use PayPal and common sense learned here on the boards. There is a ton of information and knowledge here.
  18. Send the user a separate (new) PM, notifying him you are requesting he be added to the PL. He has 72 hours to reply/defend his case. If he doesn't within that time frame, he can be added to the PL. I am going to do that right now. But it seems silly to me, as the little envelope flashing near the top of his screen is not going to flash any brighter than it already is, (he has not read my PM of Oct. 19th). if I send him another PM. But I guess procedures are procedures, so I will get that done right now. Thanks. EDIT: I just sent a separate and new PM to SuperbeastCraig. Notifying him that I am going to put him on the probation list if I do not hear from him immediately.
  19. I would like to put someone on the Probation list. That person is member SuperbeastCraig. Here are the facts. On 9-30-2013, SuperbeastCraig had a sales thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=314890&Number=7054633#Post7054633 Whereupon I posted the "take it" sign for a lower grade Batman #200. I received a PM from SuperbeastCraig telling me his PayPal email account so that I could make payment. Shipping was included in the sale price. I paid via PayPal on 10-1-2013. As of today (11-2-2013), I have not received the book. I contacted SuperbeastCraig via PM on 10-19-2013, asking if the book had been shipped yet. This sites PM service indicates that SuperbeastCraig has not read my PM of October 19th. A few days ago, I went through the PayPal "dispute" system, and informed PayPal of the above. They informed me that they would attempt to contact the seller (SuperbeastCraig) and resolve this issue. They then informed me that they have received no return contact from Timothy Dillon (SuperbeastCraig). I then excalated my dispute to a "Claim" with PayPal, and asked for a refund. They have not yet determined the outcome of my claim, apparently until a certain amount of time elapses. So, in a nut shell. I paid for the book on 10-1-13 and have not received it yet. All attempts to contact Timothy Dillon aka SuperbeastCraig, have been fruitless. I also received a PM from another member, who was asking if I have had any contact with SuperbeastCraig, as he purchased a New Mutants #98 at about the same time frame I made my purchase (but on a different sales thread), and has not heard from the seller, nor received the book be paid for. This is the first time I have posted in this probation thread and I am not sure if I am doing this correctly. If I am not, please let me know how to go about this. It is not a lot of money. But it is a loss to me, via this sites sales forum. The purchase price of the Batman 200 was $20.00. I do not know what the price of the New Mutants #98 was, that was purchased by Diamonddave. SuperbeastCraig's last post on this forum was 10-2-13.
  20. I thought we all wanted prices to go up, up and away. Or is that just after we get ours?
