  1. I like the cover to Action #18. I feel it's popularity will grow in time.

I think the early DC "adventure" type covers remain, unfairly, left in the shadows of their Superhero counterparts. Many times I actually prefer them. O'Mealia's early Action and Detective work are obvious examples, but Flessel and Guardineer also did some of the best work to ever grace a funnybook front.

I mean, lets get real, does cover art get much better than Detective 18, Action 2 or Action 8 (despite the obvious swipe of a superior illustrator)? I say no, no it does not!

Yes, and thanks to Roy for selling me the Action. We both looked at it a few years ago at Harley's table, but he was quicker on the draw!

Love these books, and they are just a fraction of the cost.

  2. I saw that book in person when I was in Oregon. It was on display at a local museum where they had an exhibit on comic books and original art in October, 2009. It has a much discussed history, but I can say that is shockingly nice in real life. The scans don't do it justice. Paulie had some photos posted on here at one time of the comic that better represented the book. It really looked newsstand fresh from front and back (I stepped behind the showcase to see the back cover, much to the disapproval of the security guard).

    It's a killer looking copy.

    no doubt (thumbs u

but how much restoration has been done to it?

we will only know if it is "professionally" graded/checked.

  3. finally landed a low grade copy for keeps

Has nice eye appeal for a low grader. Congrats! :applause:

I finally landed one too....good that you weren't bidding or anyone else for that matter.....Under $200 shipped  Low res scans...looks a lot better in hand, crisp and nice bright colors. Only some minor spine wear, bottom chipping and a right bottom corner crease....generally nice mid grade.

    nice one colin! :applause:
