  1. You are quite welcome Gary! Glad you like the comics. Mike
  2. Kudos to Bronzed JBone for the fast shipment and great packaging on the ASM #194 CGC 9.0. Thanks Jason! I'll look to deal with you again in the future. Mike
  3. Yes, and proud of it. There are actually quite a few of us here in Northern Illinois.
  4. Here are some pictures of my comic/sports/golf/fishing room: The long boxes shown are about 80 boxes. I didn't have any room for the other 20 long boxes (they're in another room) and 3 boxes full of my CGC stuff.
  5. (thumbs u Cool post some pictures if you can, and if you find any ASM Double Covers I am very interested. Here's some scans of my double cover issues: The Marvel Premiere #2 is the sweetest of them all. I'd say the outside cover is VF/NM to NM- and the inside cover is at least a NM. And I picked up the Captain America #119 from Mike F. (flatrock02 in here) last year.
  6. I found the following double covers but I'm sure I have more laying around. Heck, I have thousands of comics where I've only looked at the front and back covers only. I'm sure there may be a few other double covers in there somewhere..... 1) Amazing Adventures #37 VG 2) Captain America #119 FN+ 2) Marvel Premiere #2 VF/NM 3) Marvel Tales #150 VF 4) Sgt. Fury #41 VG/FN 5) Korak, Son of Tarzan #52 VF/NM
  7. Boy, I'm going to have to dig out all of my double cover issues and have some graded. I probably have 15 or 20 of them and never realized how much they were worth until now. Mike
  8. Oh, and take a look at some of the other prices this guy got for double cover issues. Mike
  9. Look at the price this X-Men #148 double cover just brought on eBay last night. Unbelievable! Crazy money and they weren't even slabbed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120226821222&ssPageName=STRK:MEDW:IT&ih=002
  10. I have a World's Finest #19 that I listed in "Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?" but have gotten few responses on what people would grade it at. The scan is not that great (100dpi) but let me know what you think. Maybe I'll put up a higher dpi scan this weekend. BTW, it's NOT for sale. Mike
  11. About 25,000 (all in the last 6 years).
  12. I'll agree that the non-key and low grade issues will be more difficult to unload later on, but I don't see me buying any reprints to "fill in" a run. If you don't have the originals then you don't have a run. I've often thought about doing just what you're doing (buying key/high demand/high grade issues only) and may someday do that. But I'm so close in completing all of these runs that I hate to stop now. shark2557
  13. Amazing Spider-Man #33. Probably my all-time favorite Spidey issue. This issue alone does the best job of symbolizing the constant struggle Peter Parker/Spider-Man has to go through every day of his life. Being pinned under the massive machine, trying to reach the health serum to help his sick Aunt May, never giving up until he literally throws the giant machine off and swimming to safety. I actually believe this issue had an effect on my life when I was a kid. It gave me that "never say never" attitude; that I could always do something to make my life and the lives around me better by never giving up hope. shark2557
  14. I am DEFINITELY a completist. I now have full runs of about 100 different Marvel and DC Silver, Bronze and Modern Age titles and am still working on completing about 15-20 more runs. The amazing thing about all of this is that I didn't own one stinkin' comic book in December of 2001. I discovered eBay then, caught the bug and haven't been able to stop since. shark2557
