  1. You feel bad. I sold my Preacher #1 CGC 9.6 Signature Series signed by Garth Ennis a couple of years ago for next to nothing (compared to what it would go for today).
  2. Found this at a new (to me) antique mall in Bethany, Oklahoma. It's a sweet 8.5/9.0 copy that only cost me $6.00. All of the other comics they had were modern junk.
  3. I'm also wondering why nobody's talking about some of her other earlier appearances like in Action Comics #839, 842 and 843. And she's on the cover of #842 and #843. I've been snagging nice copies of these books the last couple of weeks expecting an upturn at some point in time.
  4. Finally? That book peaked in 2006-2008, hitting $1725 for a 9.8 according to GPA. What? UXM 283 sold for $1725 in 9.8? What the hell am I doing sitting on a shortbox of them. Stupid reading comprehension failed me again. Thought you were meaning the ASM 300. Great, now I gotta go stop the Fedex guy with my CGC shipment.
  5. When I found the Star Spangled War Stories #151, I also saw this in the same antique mall. I just had to take a picture for Greggy since I know how much he loves Strawberry Shortcake.
  6. I was listening to a local radio station this past weekend when I heard an ad for an antique mall I was unaware of. I was in that area yesterday afternoon so I stopped in to see what they had. Very few comics, but the one guy who had mostly newer comics in a small box did have this for $5.00. I snatched it right up.
  7. Great guy to deal with on purchases. Paid right away and communicates well. Thanks Chase!
  8. Almost 100% of the stuff I sell on eBay is Buy it Now with the Best Offer option. And even though they can submit an offer, a number of people go ahead and hit the BIN. I had setup all of my listings to automatically accept a certain offer amount and to send me an e-mail if an offer was below the automatic figure but still above a minimum. I did this just to avoid having to deal with the lowballers. But eBay sales got so bad about a month ago I decided to remove the min/max requirement on any new listings and just go with the straight Best Offer option. The bad part of that of course Is I now have to deal with the lowball bids. But I'd rather do that than give stuff away in auctions. I've been burned too many times on auctions with both raw and slabbed books. I'll run an occasional auction but it's only for a hot book or it has a reserve tied to it. Another thing you can do with BIN items in your store is run sales. I'm almost always running some kind of a sale. You can run a sale for up to 45 days and you pick the percentage off you want. And you can run multiple sales at one time. I'll usually do one sale for slabs at 10% off, another sale for all comics under $10.00 and a 3rd sale for comics over $10.00. Plus you can pick and choose which items are included in your sale.
  9. You can own one now . . . Oh, and btw, it's the same art. SOLD! Wow. He should almost feel guilty. Almost. congrats divad, but I think you left some money on the table. http://www.ebay.com/itm/301194958073?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649 Wow...unbelievable.
  10. I found my ASM #129 CGC 9.6 double cover the same way but through a local seller. He was a reseller so I'm 99% sure he didn't know what he had either. And I wouldn't have known had I not taken it out and looked through it like you did.
  11. Found at a local Vintage Stock store this weekend. Total cost = 25 cents. 30 cent price variant
  12. Went to one of the local Vintage stock stores on Saturday to take advantage of their weekend BOGO sale on comics. I started going through all of their dollar boxes and was about half-way thru when the manager started bringing out more long boxes and setting them on the floor at one end. While I'm busy finishing the regular dollar boxes, a guy sits on the floor and goes through the ones the manager just brought out. By the time I get done with the regular boxes, the other guy is finished with the new boxes and moves around to where I originally was. So I walk to the end, look down and sitting right on top of one of the new boxes is this: Lucky for me that other guy was apparently unaware of price variants. He knows about them now because I showed it to him and how to recognize them. Too bad about that tape tear though. Would be a much nicer copy otherwise.
  13. I agree. X-Factor #23 gets overlooked. I've been grabbing them whenever I see them and just picked up another nice copy yesterday for 50 cents. Overstreet states #23 as Archangel's 1st brief appearance and #24 as his first full appearance.
  14. Perhaps you should clarify before someone actually dumps money on this book. It's his M.O. Would you expect anything less? Damn! And I just bought all 6 issues off of Amazon!
  15. Why? Surely you jest. Just look at the front cover again.
  16. Mostly quiet on the Dave front. TOO quiet....
  17. I was wondering the same thing. Do you mean the miscut at the bottom edge?
  18. i really hadn't been searching for anything Dave related lately, but when I was digging through looking for a couple of hot Action Comics at a local Vintage Stock store the other day, I was surprised to find a 9.6/9.8 copy of Airboy #5 for only $1.95. Better yet, I picked up a 9.4/9.6 copy of ASM #299 for that same price. I love Vintage Stock.
  19. Did you know these were at the 'pre sale' before you got there, or just got lucky? Either way, nice haul!! I saw he was "pre-selling" furniture, so I thought I'd ask about the comics. He said, "Sure, I'll sell them to you." And I tripped over myself to get to my car... Proof that sometimes just asking a question can lead to something good. (thumbs u
  20. Gotta be a fluke, I see them for $5 at the LCS's often enough I would pay $5 all day long for 9.6+ copies . . . And I'll be in line right behind David. (thumbs u
