  1. A wonderful shop in Newcastle, UK called Timeslip.
The excitement of my first trip there has never left me.
I bought my first comic there, a Bronze Age FF. It’s where I also picked up my Silver Surfer 1 for £5 which was lot of money to me back then !

Not long after, around 30 years ago, it was bought by the Forbidden Planet group so it became a chain. It was here where Stan Lee in person signed said Silver Surfer 1.
what I wouldn’t give now for one final trip to Timeslip.

It should be quite exciting on the day. There's nothing quite like the buzz in the room when a lot takes off is there. Good luck if you're bidding Lips.

    Yeah it’s great.
I’ll be bidding on some of the lots but nothing at too big money with Xmas around the corner.
I’ll be intently watching though the AF15, IH1 and FF1.

You've got some crackers in there Wiff. A Spidey pence run is a lovely thing to behold.

If selling is your intention, I'd give 30th Century Comics a call and see what they could do for you. There are a lot of vultures out there, as I'm sure you'll appreciate, but they are trustworthy chaps and I think they would be more than happy to market / sell the keys for you.

Condition is a massive factor when it comes to value, and you have some lower grade copies there it seems, but it looks like there are some nice mid grades books too. You can post some pictures here...

    https://boards.cgccomics.com/forum/42-hey-buddy-can-you-spare-a-grade/

...to get an idea of condition if you'd like the input from the experienced graders here. The more pictures, the better - front, back, interior. Note any missing pagers / cut coupons / writing.

All in all, a wonderful thing to have found. Wonderful comics if you love them and with the added bonus of being worth a bomb if you don't.

Post some pictures of the westerns if you can. They have much less value than the super hero books, but I love to see pence copies of them :)

    I’ll second 30th century.
I deal with Rob a lot and he’s a pleasure to buy from.

You won't go wrong with those Wiffy. ASM #1 seems to have doubled in price in the last year - this pence copy sold for £10K in October - looked about a raw 3.0 to me, so you'll do well with a graded copy if selling is your intention:

Keep an eye on this forthcoming auction here - it will give you a flavour of what to expect:

I live in Newcastle so I’m lucky enough to go to the Anderson and Garland auction in person. John is a lovely guy.
Next weeks looks amazing so getting to see so many keys in one room at one tune is amazing.

no biggie...as Rob mentioned, the hammer is not really relevant when there is a BP involved, it is what the buyer pays for the book, so the net is what is compared across all venues

    Thanks

I was going to stretch to a 3 million but the buyers premium makes it now out of my price range !!!

This was not an easy get for me as the value of the 9.6 AF15 on Heritage keeps climbing most dealer and collectors just wouldn’t part with this . I have a funny feeling I got in on the very last ship sailing away for this issue . It’s low grade but I’m sooo happy to have landed this one.

Looks higher than a 1.5 to me. Is there anything you can’t see in image pulling it down ?

"hammer price" is meaningless here--the COST is currently 2.8+.    in fact, if buyer is a taxed buyer, he/she is looking at over 3.1 right now.

so the AC1 that went for 3.2 million, was that price inclusive of buyers premium ?

I thought it was hammer price but as I’m far from an expert on auctions then I wouldn’t know

It’s at $2.8M but I wouldn’t be surprised if it passes Action #1 in the live auction.

I presume you’re talking buyers premium price and not hammer price ?

unless I’m completely missing something ( very possible ) this is what I see
