  1. If the Beta Test is to increase efficiency, it makes sense for the parallel team/facility to only process Moderns which I hazard would be the fastest and easiest to grade. They have to receive the packages and open them to determine/select the contents for the beta test (if modern), but they won't be entered into the system until later. My submissions did not include pressing, non-moderns, or anything else that would theoretically "slow" this beta test down.
  2. Yes, the grades were listed. First batch were all Killing Jokes in various printings actually and top census for most. Second batch of 40 wasn't as great as I didn't have the usual 10-packs of comics to work from... but these were comics that have ZERO entries on the census, so I was happy with a 9.4 pre-screen on them. (Fair number of 9.8s, more 9.6s.) We'll see if there is any sort of demand for Sonic the Hedgehog. It was an odd submission really. (I still have other submissions in process submitted months ago... some recently placed that still haven't shown up in the control panel yet.)
  3. So I actually had two separate orders completed today by the end of the day. The second was a larger order of 40 books (pre-Screen Modern) using CGC's large shipping box if that makes any difference. Order placed online: October 1, 2021 Received by USPS: October 4, 2021 Delivered to CGC: October 7, 2021 Received: October 15, 2021 Status: Shipped on October 18, 2021 (Monday)
  4. Under My Submissions, it will show you Status, Order No, Received, and the grades given. They suddenly showed up today.
  5. So I had placed a Fast Track order into CGC on October 4, 2021. It shipped (was accepted) Priority via the USPS on October 5, 2021 and was delivered on October 7, 2021. Today, October 15, 2021, I'm getting a notification that the books (7) are graded and being shipped back. So things are speeding up or their beta tests are working. (I still have other submissions in the queue, of course, but this was a surprise.) NOTE: I DID NOT WRITE ANYTHING ON THE OUTSIDE TO INDICATE IT WAS A FAST TRACK I THINK... Unless my memory is going... which is possible as I can't remember.
  6. Hmm. I've never used Express or Walkthrough. I was thinking more of Standard or even Reholdering which would still seem to be impacted by a month-long delay in opening. (I've used those recently but didn't mark anything outside the package or thought I needed to either.) I never actually noticed those instructions for Express or Walkthrough either unfortunately as they are not on certain pages. (How to pack and ship your comics which is where I went to initially. https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/8035/cgc-shipping-kits/ ) https://www.cgccomics.com/services/shipping-your-books/

  8. So if you pay for Express but forget to write it on the outside and it languishes for a month because they don't open the package, that's considered part of the process? (That's leaving it up to the consumer which seems like a bad idea. It also seems to scream that this package is worth more than others.)
  9. So logistically, how do they know something isn't expedited or a rush order unless they open the package up and look at the packing slip? Logically, they HAVE to open up the packages as soon as possible to extract the packing slip to determine the tier. Then they allocate the package into its appropriate queue. They haven't UNPACKED it yet. They've just initially determined its initial destination basically. (An initial sorting algorithm) So it's not entered into the system yet, but it IS opened and in some sort of queueing system logically. It won't get entered into the system (which is relatively recent... June-July I think) until it has reached a later stage. What they ARE able to do is scan and mark it as received from the post office so you can verify it online as being in their facility. The thing is... in their videos, they want you to slide the packing slip into the bag with the comics and then tape everything up into a brick. This seems counter-productive really since it means they have to slice/open up the brick to get the packing slip. They should probably ask you to have two packing slips... One in the brick (which is actually optional and a backup), and one that is more easily accessible for the initial sorter. This might make the process more efficient. (I would also hazard the initial sorting team has to barcode/tag the shipment for internal processing and tracking.)
  10. I was surprised to see what Watchmen #1 is going for these days in HG. It's not a dollar book any more...
  11. Signature Series books in multiples so I assume they are CGC's private stash of books they had the signers do while they were there.
  12. I think that what is happening is that as the turnaround times got longer, more people started paying for the expedited service. This, in turn, pushed the people already in line for the slower service even further back. So that TAT is really a moving estimate. It's like being at Disneyland and waiting in line for a popular ride and having people come in through the special front cut line for people who pay extra.
  13. This particular person, at least, seems to be collecting ASM 194 in every CGC grade. He's only missing the very low grades which he could arguably "make" himself, and a 9.2/9.4/9.9/10 I've heard of people doing this before actually... You would need a Key Book to do it too since it needs a lot of slabbed books across a whole range of grades.
  14. I DO notice that when I'm rifling through a long box of Silver Surfers... I can pull these out instantly by seeing the merest sliver of their top cover. (They have a distinctive green background. )
  15. Yellowish Green and Magenta are complementary colors. They probably went with that as that was probably the design theory at the time. The Red in the title and Green also go together. (Color theory has greatly changed since then.)
  16. Okay... So you're talking about Captain Marvel (2014) Issue 17, 2nd Print. (More helpful to include the issue number... ) It's been above $5000 since Mid-March 2021.
  17. In case the actual item wasn't identified, I wouldn't dump anything of unknown origin into the wild. You could originate an infestation that could start wiping out the local fauna and threaten local crops / the environment that would be hard to contain.
  18. Unity Saga Vol 3 $5 Violent Cases $5 (Gaiman) *Batman: Dark Victory $8 Just a Pilgrim: Garden of Eden $5
