  1. Mine just moved to SFG, man I'm hoping the grade doesn't drop after all these shenanigans, cracking the case then shipping it all over the place seems like a recipe for disaster. Fingers crossed!
  2. Honestly, nope, unless it was signed the day of release I don't even look at the date and even then I wouldn't pay any extra for it. It could have XX/XX/XXXX and I probably wouldn't notice and I'm primarily a SS collector.
  3. Yeah, I pop on here every so often to check, I just hit 8 months and am still in CCS. I haven't submitted anything since then because I said I want that book back first, but I'm officially breaking down...
  4. Hey, great question, I submitted a Longshot #1 Newsstand that was a GCG 9.8 and I asked for a drawing Spiral and Mojo creeping up behind him thinking that was shooting the moon. Figured that would look great on that cover, wish I knew how elaborate he was getting and I would have asked for a Dazzler giving his leg the Princess Leia treatment too. One day we'll get them back....
  5. Congrats! What did you end up getting if you don't mind me asking? My one slabbed 9.8 Longshot #1 is still hanging out at CCS seven months later. I haven't sent anything else is since then, still bothers me that I had to come here for any info and they couldn't be bothered to send us an e-mail or any type of notification.
  6. Hey, haven't been on in a minute, sounds like there have been some fun updates. Has anyone who had a remarque on a non blank cover received it back yet? I've made it a point not to submit anymore books until I get it back and see its not destroyed (it was a true 9.8 when sent it in, slabbed and ready to go), I had submitted almost $10K in CGC submission fees this year and have been skipping everything since.
  7. Boooooo! I have a signed Nova #1 that has like two non color braking spine ticks they couldn't get out so it came back a 9.6. CSS really isn't very good in my experience, it's like the quickest press that you can imagine. I would always recommend biting the bullet and using them for every signing, but if you have preexisting ticks, spine stress, light bends, don't expect them to fix them. I've pressed out ticks and spine stress issues like this hundreds of times, but you have to A. Take your Time and B. Focus on the actual Issues, I think CSS is just a generic press that they do super quick, its more about turn around times than quality.
  8. Yeah, I don't know how this was so different if it was encased like that: stain right top of back cover light cover tanning light spine stress lines to cover
  9. Not Fair! This is the complain about the Art Adams thread!
  10. Hear ya and listen to my tale of woe... My Roy Thomas just went to Shipped, I sent in a 9.6 ($1600) and got back...... a 8.5 ($250) Whoooooooff
  11. Yeah, it's been a bit with zero communication. Has anyone heard anything or are we just in limbo?
  12. I just called and they said it was a booboo and they were going to fix it.
  13. This is what was in the e-mail: Hope you’re doing well! We regret to inform you that we are unable to process your order for pressing on 4279150 (LINES 8, 9, 10, 11, 17, AND 18), due to the cover either being embossed, jeweled, or having an insert that may damage the book if pressed. A credit of $90.00 will be applied within 7 business days. We apologize for the inconvenience. Which is weird because, A. I'm 99.9% sure I've had at least one of these pressed before. B. I paid $20 each for pressing but am only getting back $15.
  14. My Liefeld's just went to shipped, great for the most part especially considering they said they couldn't press 6 of them: Was a little shocked at the populations of the Youngbloods: Youngblood #1 - 74 total Youngblood #2 -13 total (and 3 are mine) Youngblood #3 1 total (mine I guess?)
  15. Things are moving today at CGC! My Bagleys all went to shipped, 100% 9.8s, now I don't know what to do with my 2 extraSpider-Man #7s
  16. And moments later - Thomas is in GEI - this is the one I'm really worries about, it was a 9.6 and I had a presser break it out to try and get a bump. It's a Marvel Premiere #1 so any drop would kill its worth.
  17. Grading Update: Bagley just moved to QC Liefeld and Thomas still is SFG Art Adams still in CCS (they didn't do the Remarques at the signing and they don't have an ETA to actually get them done, other than a vague soon)
  18. My four Bagley's just hit GEI a few minutes ago (I refresh every 7 seconds or so)
  19. Super jealous! Did you get them pressed, mine have been stuck in SFG for what seems like forever.
  20. Grading Update: Bendis just moved to shipped: Alias #1 came back a 9.8 (felt pretty good about that one) Liefeld just moved to SFG (all 19 of them, fingers crossed) Bagley and Thomas are still in SFG Adams is still in limbo at CSS due to the remarques not being completed
  21. Piggy backing on that, they have officially published the grading standards now, if the grades continue to vary from the standards they should refund everyone who bought the CGC book because it’s clearly not accurate.(side note, I’ve really only had one major issue with grading in the past two years, but I’ve seen enough in the community to be concerned. I submitted over 200 books last year and have only submitted 30 ish this year due to these reoccurring concerns).
  22. Yeah, it's strange that scanning and including photos is now standard, but having someone write, 3 color breaking spine ticks, stress on on staples = 9.4 isn't. I'm a six sigma black belt (continuous improvement) and I can't understand how there isn't an applied rubric. All you would need is to take what's in the new CGC graders Guide and have them apply what they see in the grading process and the rubric, not the grader, would determine the grade. ie, they enter 2 non color breaking spine ticks and it would still be a 9.8, enter a 3rd it rolls over to a 9.6 and so on. You could build this out in an excel spread sheet in like two days with a weighted scale included and it would take all of the mystery and phone calls and general whining about grading out of the equation.
  23. Yeah, I feel like the grading has become arbitrarily harder, but no notes. I agree that we need to start complaining more and that if there are no notes, then it is a 9.8. Like every time we get a book back and it's not a 9.8, we need to call and ask why and if they can't tell us send the book back to them. It's so inconsistent its maddening, I have actual notes on a 9.8 I have (a Newstand Infinity Gauntlet that says spine ticks), but I have a host of 9.0s that look perfect and nada. There was a good video by Comic Investor (I think that's his Youtuber handle) and he just cracked and resubmitted 100 books with no additional pressing or anything and something like 75% came back in higher grades. Notes should be a requirement, gather your pitchforks!
