I found the Chinese TV series a bit hard to follow as u had to concentrate. No fast n furious cars or explosive gun play. Netflix version in English hopefully easier to follow plot.

My friend who also watched the Chinese TV series said he had to rewind quite a few times to re-read subtitles when characters were discussing deeper concepts.

Both he and I read the books, and I wonder how the Chinese TV series would be for someone who did not read them.

I've heard good things so far about the Netflix series, and can't wait to check it out!

  2. While I'm looking forward to seeing this, I'm also worried it won't do the books justice.

@AJD, I totally agree with your assessment of the books...I found some of the concepts in them (especially The Dark Forest and Death's End) both ambitious and chilling.

I recently watched the Chinese 30-episode(!) adaptation of The Three-Body Problem on Amazon and felt that it stayed fairly close to the source material (although it did add a few characters). Definitely worth a watch!

  3. 4.5 for me as well...I'm not an expert on pressing, but would ask the presser you choose whether or not the tanning on the spine might make the book risky to press. From the photos you shared the interior of the front cover at the spine doesn't look too tanned, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Should you move forward with a clean and press, I can also see the book bumping up to 5.0 after this is done.

Regardless of what you decide to do, the book presents very nicely for its grade and has rich cover colors!
