  1. Heroes did have a bunch of smaller dealers and dealers who don't make the trek out west, which was great. I'm definitely planning to make it to Terry's show next year...I last attended it in 2020, right before things went sideways. The only time I made it to the Torpedo show was in 2018, their first year if I remember correctly...that was a fun show, even though the lighting and air conditioning was hit-and-miss in the room.
  2. Great report, @Robot Man…thanks for sharing all the awesome pics and comments! I chose to go to Heroes in Charlotte over this show this year, but am planning to make it to this show next year…
  3. That's what I was thinking as well...it just has a "look" to it.
  4. Been looking for a nice copy of this book for a very long time...
  5. Here's my long overdue writeup of my experience traveling from California to this show: The weather was awesome, and it was nice to not have to bundle up to go outside If I were just getting into collecting I'd go broke at this show because of the breadth of quality books...my want list is pretty small these days, but I was still able to find a few books I needed Some dealers had books priced very fairly while others had books priced "optimistically" I had a lot of fun catching up with dealers and meeting a few boardies...this was my first large convention since SDCC 2019 I found a great French bakery/café a block from the convention center, and hit it up several times during the weekend I'm horrible at taking photos of dealers' walls of books, so I just have these photos to share. Entrance at the back of the Convention Center: Even though I don't collect original art I heard the art auction had to be experienced, so I checked it out for a bit on Saturday...it was packed! My two favorite pieces from the auction that I had a chance to see up close: Overall, I had a fantastic time and am glad I had a chance to finally check out this show, but will not make it back out in the future because of the cost of getting there and the fact that my want list is small and full of many higher-dollar books that I'd most likely buy already CGC-graded, somewhat eliminating the need to examine them in person. I would highly recommend checking out this show at least once just for the volume of books and the experience!
  6. This book I bid on today went for way more than I expected, but it is tougher to find in high grade with nice PQ...
  7. Upgraded my cracked-out CGC 7.0 copy of this book with this copy...going to keep this baby slabbed!
  8. Hi everyone, I'm offering up three slabs for sale. None of these books have been pressed, so there may upgrade opportunities here. I prefer to ship via domestic or international USPS Priority Mail, charge the exact cost for shipping and will cover the cost of insurance. I accept PayPal, checks or money orders. The first gets the book, but I will also entertain offers via PM. Please No probies and HOSers, and thanks for looking! Art
  9. @CGC Mike, I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing…condolences to you and your family. When my mom passed away in 2012 I found this quote that totally resonated with me: "Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.”
  10. I had no idea this already dropped, but will check out the first episode...guess this could be a sign of "Marvel fatigue" for me, as I was in the loop with all of the previous D+ series and watched episodes within a day or two of their release. I never read the comic series on which this show was based, and don't know if that's a good or bad thing?
  11. Great pickup, @MR. Pontoon! Presents very nicely for the grade...
  12. I sold a decent-sized chunk of Spidey books to Jeff, and he was awesome to deal with through the whole process. Thanks again for your purchase!
  13. Congrats on this "amazing" achievement, @universal soldier!
  14. Oh man, another huge loss...RIP to one of the legends.
  15. I think my old kudos thread went bye-bye when the boards were upgraded a while ago, so I'm starting a new one... Please feel free to post here if we had a transaction that went to your liking...thanks!
  16. My first SDCC was in 2002, and even then you could just show up and purchase a one-day ticket if you didn't want to do all four days...I can't remember exactly when the craziness started, but it was a few years after that.
