  1. Great news. It cannot be ink transfer because it has been stored unread in a comic bag since purchase from new. I think perhaps the staining may be from a backing board? Though I swear they were acid free?
  2. Many thanks for your feedback, I'll bear this in mind, thank you
  3. Hi thanks for your suggestion. Do you think it is possible to clean and press it back to a 9.4, 9.6 condition then?
  4. You just never know either way! Thanks a lot for the info - this is all helping
  5. I have a confession to make, something that has been bothering me for 14 years! I had the chance to purchase a TMNT #1 first print for a very good price - very good price - and I let it go, sigh!
  6. I had no idea you could clean a comic book up. Does the CGC label say it has been C&P'd? Does C&P raise the grade and do buyers consider it a flaw or enhancement? It is a lot to take in sure but I feel at home learning all this. I must be in the right place
  7. Ha ha I know nothing! Though I do know I love the TMNT. Always have, always will! Thanks for your feedback
  8. Many thanks for your reply. What is C&P? I apologise I am a complete novice.
  9. Amazing, thanks for the detailed evaluation - this is really helpful feedback. I'm guessing the stain/dirt/oil on the back is from the comic board? It hasn't been outside of the bag at all since I bagged it 13 years ago. I also have a copy of #29 which is not signed, in the same condition, so if I did get it CGC'd I will submit the unsigned copy to be safe. I assumed the signed version perhaps would be the more desired but anyway, I feel some equilibrium since posting here. Many thanks.
  10. Thanks for understanding. I have posted at the grade estimate forum as suggested, which will be the 3rd or 4th time I enquired about this comic, you're right! Thanks again for sharing the link. No more posts from me tonight!
  11. Hello I wonder if anyone is able to give me an estimate grading for this comic. It is signed by Peter Laird with a head sketch 2008. I am not sure if this downgrades the desirability of the comic or not? This is the same condition in which I received it. Comics from Mirage were shipped without boards/bags. I bagged it the day I received it and it has been unread since. I removed it from the bag in order to take the photos. Any suggestions to the grading and possible value would be greatly appreciated as I am a complete novice. Pictures are attached. Many thanks everyone
  12. Hello, apologies if I broke any rules. I will check out the grade estimates link you posted - thank you
  13. Hi, thanks for replying. I have attached all pics of the condition - I hope this is OK. Comics shipped from Mirage without boards/bags and so this is the condition it arrived in and has been unread/bagged since.
  14. Hello I was wondering the value of this comic if anybody would know? It is new/unread and was signed by Peter Laird with a head sketch at my request in 2008 and has been stored in a comic bag since. I had some help yesterday (thank you) but cannot find any information about its actual current worth so am hopeful someone here may know about this particular issue? I am new to using forums so I apologise if I am posting too frequently or in the wrong places. Thanks for any insight.

  16. Ha! Two copies. One with a CGC grade 9.9 and a reading copy to last me for all eternity
  17. OK so your post was 05/30/2010. I'm from the future 05/13/2021 and I am here to tell you that your prediction of it leaving the realm of affordability for the common collector was spot on! See what it fetches now?!
  18. I just realised it is against the rules for me to mention auctions.I hope I don't get a strike for it. Thanks for your feedback today.
  19. I'm currently selling an issue of Raphael 1st print in average condition on eBay with a starting price of 200.00, and has people watching. I have seen it go for way more. Am I underselling it or is this a fair price? It ends tomorrow. I attach a photos for reference? I'm a complete novice, so any feedback greatly received thanks.
  20. I think re TMNT vol 4 issues 29-31 were limited to 1,000 copies and #32 (which was printed out of sequence) was 3,000 maybe? It seems people want #29 most?
