That would be normal then. Their bulletin board software can detect when more than one user ID is used on the same computer. They use this to spot shills. We do the same thing on a board I moderate.

How did you manage to get a blue label on the Flex Mentallo #3? I thought autographs could only get yellow or green?

 

The signatures are part of the artwork; they're on every copy.

I'll be starting a Marvel Lot sale this week (maybe today) in the modern/copper forum. I'm thinning the herd drastically and want to move a bunch of books at once, so will be selling these in lots of like titles and pricing them to move (more than 50% off guide, some drastically more than 50% off).

I've only had two sales threads in the past (one DC and one Independent) but have sold to a couple dozen board members, so holler if you need references. After I move the newer stuff, I've got quite a few earlier (SA/BA) Marvels to move too, but those will come in another thread, obviously.

Just not at the same time.

Well, I've swung by to see what's happening over here these days and...my ing god, what a cluster this place has become.

 

With the exception of one or two old timers, there's not one accurately graded raw book in the Marketplace.

 

And as for some of the IDs posting...who the are you? What have you ever contributed around here???

he posted an a month + ago, a week and a half later he asks me for my paypal addy so he can send payment as soon as he can gets the money, 3 weeks go by...I send him a reminder, he ignores it. I send him another, he reads it and ignores it. I ask if he is ignoring me....he replies....he cant afford it now and if I think he is a doosh, he doesnt care. He first tells me he owes a lot of people here money, then he sells some books, puts a WTB thread up and sells some more books.

 

I PM'ed Divad and asked if this is a probation list issue....and the response was clear

Just got in 20 sweet golden age books on consignment. Detective 7, 8, 9, 11, 19, 30; All-American 61; Adventure 24, 28, 46, 51 and more.

 

Running them by a few people I promised first shot to, then they will be on the boards. Should have the thread up in a week or two. Some killer golden age in this lot, so save your pennies.

I'm sure the books are nice, but that's one damn fine cup of coffee you've got there.

Does anyone have experience mailing posters? What is the best (re: most affordable) method? USPS? UPS? Other?

I've got a ton of comics related posters I need to move that I picked up back in the late 80's/early 90's, but I imagine I'll only be able to do it if I can mail them affordably.

I seem to remember USPS having a round flat rate mailer, has anyone used those and know what the cost is? I found one of those triangle shaped mailers that you can mail posters in on the USPS website, but the tubes are a lot more structurally sound. I imagine UPS is more expensive, and I really haven't had good luck with them getting this kind of package to its destination without being mangled.

Anyhow, all suggestions are welcome (other than the ones telling me to shove my posters somewhere where they won't fit ).

Hey kids, is there a chance that maybe some of you could stop replying to a seller's thread with icons and phrasing like "nice pick-up" and such..?? It's getting really hard to go through a selling thread without seeing this nonsense posted and it also makes it difficult to get through a thread itself. If you're not asking about a book, why post at all..??

Will be listing the last two longboxes of Indys that didn't make my last sales thread a couple of weeks ago. Titles include P-Z this time around, plus I'll recap what didn't sell from the first thread for those that like to buy in bulk to save shipping.

Same rules, etc. Will post the recap first followed by new books either tonight or tomorrow afternoon. It will probably be another 3 or 4 day sale.

Don't remember a lot about what is in these two boxes other than a decent run of spawn from the 90's through around 150 or so. Again, these are all from my collection, mostly originally owned indys from the early 90's timeframe (but some are more recent).

Might also throw in some miscellaneous fun junk that doesn't really fit into any specific category.

Probably of interest to absolutely nobody, but will be listing a longbox of around 100 DC's that didn't fit in with my VCC Dollar-bin booth. These will be either minor-keys, some silver age Bats, Kirby titles (New Gods, Mister Miracle) , a few House of Mystery's in the 190's, Ditko's Shade The Changing Man and other goofy stuff that doesn't fit in my collection.

There's still a bunch of the dollar stuff left, but I won't list that here. I'll provide a link in case someone out there needs a bunch of cheap stuff. I'll probably post the Kamandi's and Jonah Hexes here too.

Not much high grade stuff here, so if you are a high grade junkie, this probably won't be the thread for you. Actually, it probably won't be the thread for anyone, but what the hey. CD4Ever had to start somewhere, right? (Hopefully he started with better kraap than I've got!)
