very good point, gone are the days when certain auction houses would write $100 as customs value for 5-figure books - so for me today it'd add another 10-13% duty charge on top of everything else ... not to mention less-than-favourable exchange rate ...OUCH , for a Canadian this is approaching a 2 million dollar book !!

Maybe they will cut up grail comics and put pieces in trading cards, like they do with sports cards (putting pieces of game-worn jerseys into cards) ...... I absolutely hate that !!! I would rather bid on the real mccoy than have a 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch swatch of the thing .... then again I am not a fan of single pages slabbed either

I think we should all learn from this post that our heirs should be left detailed info about the value of our books and how to cash out (if that's what they want to do) and who (dealers/auction houses) to give our treasures to to maximize the $$$ our heirs will get....this poor guy having to go through this with all of these commons ....... Or sell 2 months before you die and take care of it all ourselves !!

Well, yes .. it wasn't all that risk just for a new holder. I was sure my 6.5 ext. P A1 would probably get a more favourable grade with the new(er) restored grading scale. And indeed I got an A-4 (better than an A-5)

I sent my restored Action 1 and Tec 27 for reholdering (in new holders) - I just claimed insanity and held my breath for the couple weeks it took to go from Canada to Florida and back by Fedex - thank God it all worked out, but I was so stupid to risk it
