  1. What is that last item - a trading card of some sort? What is it’s history? looks very cool
  2. I see the pair as one . When I was contemplating getting the 27, which was the first of the two I acquired, I knew the Action 1 had to follow. If I had to divest for some unforeseen reason my collection, these would be the last to go and they’d go as a pair for sure. Can’t pick a favourite.
  3. Ok, thought maybe not the right thread for it, but I suppose never a wrong move to display this wherever you can ........ just got it re-holdered as well and was very happy to see the Mod/Ext designation , rather than fully extensive
  4. I haven't forgotten my friend ..... if and when
  5. I was so glad someone revived this thread from so long ago, because I had never noticed it back in 2009 with Rick talking about just selling his 7.0 to a "boardie" (me). That was so cool to read some of the history that even I didn't know. I knew about the Heritage sale, but didn't know it had previously gone thru C-Link, and what the previous prices were. So this thread made me pull it out again, together with my Action1 , and I feel just so fortunate to have been in a position to get these two mega books when they became available via Rick. Ten years forward, i.e now, and no way these two books end up in my hands. Just crazy to own these.
  6. Just got it re-holdered ... looking good
  7. Send it to Matt Nelson (CCS) first to get it screened for resto and pressing potential, and go from there .............
  8. Rick is and always will be the man ...... steered me away from a 4.5 ext (P) frankenbook at the time and hooked me up with this beauty, couldn't be happier. So fair to fellow boardies and so damn knowledgeable. Hope he recovers from his recent disaster, just too good a dude not to !!
  9. I can think of at least half a million reasons to LOVE this !
  10. Congrats on winning my #15! I miss it already, but I'm glad it found a good home
  11. Just saw this -- 9+ years later LOL The 7.0 exp(P) referred to -- Thank you a million times Rick, still have it and it's doing just fine!
  12. I also switched "back" to my first childhood passion : comics , from hockey cards in late 90's. Although I've kept my favourites, I stopped wasting money on cards and put it into something WAY more fun , GA and SA.
  13. Like all of you, this is my worst nightmare as well, and yes I worry alot about shipping books to the big auctions houses -- or my biggest recipient of books - CCS/CGC. I have a regular driver that picks up here, a buddy if you will, so I don't worry about him. But what about at receiving end? The regular driver down in Sarasota MUST know he's dealing with alot of high-end stuff, even though I only label it "CCS/CGC". Being from Canada, I have to declare what is inside , and I always put "vintage books" and declare a value of $2 per book. I do not purchase any insurance. I just put my trust in the whole logistics process. I've never had an issue, but I feel it is a matter of not if, but when......
