  1. Thank you for making these! Between you and Felix, I can get some more insight each month into the hobby.
  2. All these are from Ebay. I will not rag on any artists or buyers, but they interested me enough to clip the image for giggles.... I give you Negan!
  3. Someone I believe to be a solid person/collector just listed it on CAF. I will stop crying now and move on. Consider the topic closed.
  4. It was switched from an active auction to a buy it now.
  5. I noticed in the last episode titled "Superhero Haven" that there was comics and what looked to be OA. Any input on these? I had to freeze and photograph my TV, so the pics are not good. Published covers or just paintings? Done by pros or fans?
  6. This is my favorite Thanos gallery. I am serious. I like "the cat" and "Hellcat" so this is art I look at often on CAF. http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=130984
  7. Peck and Clarke are the Conan experts here. But, why would John's pencils be on non marvel art board?
  8. The best coke ad ever (IMO) was the opener for Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.
  9. I picked these 3 pages up today at a local auction. There were a few marvel pages from the 1970s also, but I lost out on those. If anyone can help with Artist on the Nyoka or any information about the Landis, please post or send me a PM. Also, if anyone wants to trade a Buscema Conan page for the 3, please let me know.
  10. Virgil is famous, just ask him or even walk by him some time at a con.
  11. My wife likes my collection and watching sketches get done at cons, but she does not like the price and has not bought me anything yet. She has drawn and colored me some really good stuff, so at least that's something. I did buy my buddy a Rocko's Modern Life page as a gift because we both loved the show and it had Ed Bighead on it, which is a favorite character. It hung on his wall for about a year. His wife hated it from the get go. Last time I asked, it was in a box somewhere. So a wise idea would to not give any muggles comic art because they will never understand it.
  12. He will be at this show in Michigan soon. I have been before, but am not going this year. Maybe someone can hook you up. http://www.cherrycapitalcon.com/guests-2017/
  13. I really don't want to rail on framing because it is your choice, but you are putting the art at risk and the chance for damage goes way up. I have been collecting for 12 years and have owned well over a hundred pages 1959 to current. In that time I have bought 4 or 5 pages that were brown, one as brown as cardboard. How do you suppose they got that way? The bad part is that every single one was photographed to look white and sold to me with no mention of the tanning. Then it's up to me to hold the grudge against the piece and take the hit when/if I resell it and mention the damage caused by some other person who just wanted to see the real art. You must consider this and make the choice.
  14. Don't leave the art unattended at the copy place. Watch and wait.
  15. Yes, any place that has a machine that can handle the size, should be able to get you a nice printout.
  16. Honestly, get a high quality copy made, frame that and keep the original in a portfolio. Light kills inks, and your white page will tan if you don't do all the expensive stuff. Also, Never put art on an exterior wall if you live in shifting climates. The change temp could worpe the page or cause moisture damage. It's your piece, but putting an original out is a risk imo.
  17. Here's what I want to share about estate sales in my neck of the woods. People will get there early, even sleep in their cars in the driveway. There is a list to sign up and if you are not in the first wave in the house (5-10 people at a time) you are out of luck. Once in, pick up anything you are remotely interested in or someone else will, you can always put it back, but there is no time to debate. I have seen people take the list from the first person in front of them and tear it up once they found out they would not be in the first wave. I have seen the cops called by the company running the sales. The die hard people can be animals at these things. To whoever goes, be fast and get the art in your hands asap. Good luck to those of you in that neck of the woods and please post if you get anything.
  18. I bought it with the hopes to trade for art or sell, both of which are major parts of the hobby and something most people do. I don't want to ship internationally and I would drive the 5 hours to meet someone if a deal was made. But going into Canada to meet anyone and having to worry about declaring it at the boarder is not something I really want to do. I 'll soon be listing it on eBay with USA shipping included for a starting price of zero profit for me. If it sells, great, if not, still would trade for art. Thanks again for the info and help on this one. This thread can be closed now.
  19. I have had several people interested in this. Still hoping for a trade for some art (John Buscema anyone?). Let me know if you are interested before I have sell or move to fleebay. Here are some more pics. The paint is pretty good on it. and the tags it does have are in good shape. 59 inches closed, 56 inches open, 16 inches wide, 16 inches deep.
  20. There is a "what the" issue that has a lady wolverine in it. Also, wolverines daughter Wild Thing from the 1990s to go along with the test tube. all of these are just precursors to the cartoon and then NYX 3 being her fist comic appearance.
  21. Issue 67 page is from 1959 and issue 69 is 1960, so they may technical be silver age. Gotta love the one page story. Stan Lee and Al Hartley.
  22. WTT Vintage DC Comic Rack For Art I have just recently bought a vintage DC comic rack from 1941 and am looking to trade it for Pre-1990 Art. I like Conan, Punisher, Wolverine, Hellcat and just about anything Superhero. John Buscema is my favorite artist. I can ship UPS to anywhere in the USA. This link below shows a sale for the same model rack. https://www.hakes.com/Auction/ItemDetail/102001/DC-COMICS-EARLY-WIRE-COMIC-BOOK-SALES-RACK The condition on the one I offer is sturdy and usable. It has some bends and a popped weld at the bottom. It's missing 6 plates and 2 plate mounts. It's very impressive in person and could be enjoyed as is or restored. If you are interested in a trade with shipping included, let me know. Below is a link to my CAF: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=46038
  23. I do not have the skills or interest in restoring it. It's sturdy and functional as is. It would be cool to find some original or even fabricated tags to put on it, but I really don't see myself as the forever owner. I am looking to trade this for pre-1990 published Conan or superhero comic art. If anyone is interested, let me know. I can ship UPS anywhere in the USA.
  24. For artists that do great covers and interiors for the modern age: Ryan Stegman and R. M. Guéra are 2 that come to mind and there are many more. I love classic marvel and DC art. John Buscema is the best IMO, but there are some real talents out there working today. The main issues is that the company does not let them stay on books for long periods like in the old days so you don't get to deep on any one artist.
