  1. definitive proof of my open-mindedness. only a few more to go for my 'one of each d.c. golden age title' collection [for purposes of this run, only titles/books thru '49 will count, and has to be a big logo where applicable; the other loose criterion was that i've tried for really good covers].

thanks go to gator for the bat 11.

Nice collection! Love the 1940 NY World's Fair cover. :cloud9:

  2. Most modern age covers suck.

I agree with that! I voted Golden Age because the war covers are awesome. The fact that some covers are so dramatically un-PC is great to me because they make a legitimate statement, even if it was offensive to some.

After a while though, war covers get old. I think Bronze Age is best for general variety. I love many of the Batman and Superman covers from the early '70s. Social commentary with drugs, civil rights and crime issues really made an impact in those years. When that got to be too much there was always Archie!

  3. I can fit 14 boxes across the top there. The one long box I have up there is all my doubles for my son. I don't know if I like the boxes overhanging that much. The rest of my collection is short boxes. I am planning on wood floors and possibly something like what Chromium has as far as shelving. Probably not as big as he has though.

On a side note, I put up this border in my son's room and am considering it for my office/comic room. Don't know if you guys have seen this before.

That is not where I bought it though. I found a place for about half that price. I just can't remember the name of the place right now.

I think it looks great. I will post some pictures of my son's room so you can take a look at it a little bit later. :cloud9:

Cool Marvel border on that link! Might as well get the kids started right at an early age! Who needs Disney when you can have Marvel?

  4. I'm so glad to see someone with Flash 139. It seems like I never see anyone mentioning it as a desired comic but I think it's great because of the appearance of PZ and I always thought it was a good story and great nemesis for Flash.

I also have had a hard time finding a slabbed copy in High Grade so it seems like those who have it must love it. Of course before I found these boards I didn't realize how many people are dedicated to runs of HG Flash. Anyway congrats on a great comic!
