  1. Not the highest grade, but its the comic that means the most to me, and the one comic I will never sell.

My wife bought it for me 30 years ago for our first anniversary from the LCS I frequented, where she would sit patiently as I spent hours picking out my comics.

This book was in the display case, and Conan #1 was the book I coveted above all others for my collection, but at the asking price of 75.00 it was something I simply could not afford. As a newly married couple, times were tight, and that kind of money just seemed out of reach, and so I never asked the wife, I could not justify the expense, but she knew I really wanted that book.

So without my knowledge, she went to the Comic Book store by herself and bought the book. She did this a week or 2 prior to our anniversary, so when I went to get my weekly books, and noticed the Conan #1 gone, that really bummed me out, because in the days prior to the internet, I thought I may never have the chance to get another copy.

On our first Anniversary when I opened and saw the book, I knew I had found a keeper in My new Wife. :cloud9:

  2. The same guy that did the limited edition "Fantasy Fan" has a new project that he is taking preorders on. It is a deluxe hardcover Edition of Marvel Tales. Chock full of Pulpy Howard and Lovecraft goodness! I just ordered my copy.

Any one familiar with the work this guy did on the "Fantasy Fan" is well aware of the care that he puts into these projects! I dont know him personally, and I make no money on commission I just want to give a heads up here to you guys!

  3. Why did Lord FLEE give Dale the yardwide shoulders while I got the breadstick arms?

Flee believes in truth in advertising.

I can't believe I dared challenge Lord FLEE.

I'm more than a little scared right now.

Your pretty buff dude, not mantyhose shirt worthy like me, but enough that even the great Flee wont be able to hide the studliness.

  4. At Sam's Club yesterday, they had a stack of the new John Carter book from Disney. With a bright orange cover, you can't miss it. Only $6.95 for hundreds of pages of the movie story, photographs in the middle, and a reprint of an original ERB story. Given today's prices, this was a steal!

Thank you for the "heads up"!

Has this series of comics that Theagenes has been so gracious to post, ever been compiled and published in a book?
