  1. #3 is probably my favorite of all the Superman books, with #4 a close second.

4 is my favorite. Back in the late seventies local dealer Ron Oser had that book in VG in his showcase for around 400 bucks(higher than Overstreet's price). Boy, did I want that book!

That brings back memories. Drooling over a book at the LCS out of your budget...just dreaming... :cloud9:

    Awesome Supes 4!!!

  2. Im glad to hear Matt say Alex, "Bat-Man" was not aware of the prior sale. That is a relief since I have shared some friendly PMs with the guy and I would have hated to think he was someone who would knowingly undercut another buyer.

I also want to go on the record, that I was not one of the ones making implications that his silence on this matter was an admission of guilt. Sometimes people just get floored by events, dont know how to respond, and choose to sit things out a bit to contemplate the best course of action.

Alex has a real love for the hobby, and I enjoy his posts. I look forward to hearing from him soon on these boards.

Matt has some great friends in Danimal and loving the Surfer. It seems like he found some new ones here on the boards.

I too have put Matts quest for an affordable pre-Robin TEC in my list of Comic Hunts.

  3. Non seller needs to be on the hall of shame or probation, end of story. There was a deal, he sold the book out from under Matt and he can't make the deal happen.

My read (and personal feeling) is that folks are getting bent on the fact that the issue was raised, the board had Matt's back (by demanding that the seller address the issue), and now there is a perception that the seller is not paying for his actions.

There is something Matt can do on this one. Go to the probation thread and ask for inclusion on the list that he feels best suits his situation for the good of the community that stood beside him. (thumbs u

Transaction gone bad, check. Buyer got screwed, check. Seller acted on poor judgment, check. Two guys that are still probably decent people, check. Equivalent to rape? Hell no, we’re only talking funny books. Can we put the guns on the table please? doh!

Perfect analysis of events. (thumbs u

  4. I haven't read the whole thread...just responding to Dan's initial post....

Yeah, it sucks. But I'd just tell your boy to move on. Pre-Robin Tec's are tough to come by, but they are out there. It's not a 'Tec 27 (or 31), so the pain isn't quite as great. Yes, it does suck. But, not the end of the world.

One of the great things about the hobby is that another one will come up. There are multiple copies of virtually every book out there. A great man once said "Patience is a virue" (). That holds true with this hobby. A majority books are out there; and they'll become available at some point

What your boy is looking for is more rare than the standard fare, but they are out there.

Respectfully disagree. If it all went down like stated, and I have no reason yet to assume otherwise, this was really really wrong and should not be given the "Oh well, another will come along tratment"

Really hope this gets cleared up quick!

I re-read the thread. I don't think the buyer should feel bad.

This is a "seller" issue. No fault of the "buyer".
