I remember reading your story about that TMNT #1 and how your buddy urged you to buy it when it came out. Cool stuff. You subbed it at WWTX 2008, right?
I came across a dealer in Georgia who kept telling me that he owned the sole 9.8 TMNT #1 1st print. Was that you, or was the guy lying?
Anyway, cool that you have a Raphael in 9.8 as well. I saw that a universal 9.8 popped up. There are 3 other 9.8's, but they're all SS books. It's a tough book to find in grade.
Fantastic books!
Thanks.
Unless there is another 9.8 #1 floating around, that guy was fibbing. I am not a dealer and live in Oklahoma. There well may be another at some point.
Yes I subbed it at WWTX2008.
Another 9.8? Not likely me thinks! Amazing Amazing book!!!

I got a few Crime Suspenstories last week. Most will be for sale except this one, which will stay in my personal collection for a very LONG time, what a great classic cover !
Classic Cover, but very disturbing.
Note the close to portruding snapped neck bone!!
That cover makes me ill!!!
I love it!

I purchased this Original oil painting by the great Carl Barks today titled : Goleta Hillside #3
So... technically no Ducks are visible, although I suppose they could be inside the cottage.
But again it is an original by the greatest Duck artist of all time so I hope you guys dont mind me posting it here.

Nice call Supapimp!!
Reading this old thread made me wax nostalgic for deathlock. Whatever happened to that guy?
He was kind of like JC but without the people skills!

This is the last of the good ones I was waiting on. Thrilling Detective from September 1935. A weird choice to have part of the skull broken away so you can see the teeth roots. Love the Fedora!
That is one funny cover (thumbs u
I love Skull Covers with Eyeballs intact! Flesh rotted off every bit of bone, while leaving the eyes intact?! They sure look cool though!! (thumbs u

Allright, here's my contribution.
No half-naked ladies, sadly, but I did just pick up a pretty rare Howard item. This a copy of Marvel Tales vol. 1, no. 2, a digest-sized fanzine published in 1934 by William Crawford. It contains the first appearance of "The Garden of Fear" by REH, as well as a Frank Belknap Long story, "The Dark Beasts." This copy is interesting because the issue was printed with a 15 cent price on the cover, but it has some of government (tax?) stamp on it with 25 cents stamped over that. Maybe this one was sold in Canada? Anyway it's pretty cool and I'm excited to have found one.
That issue had 2 different covers as I remember. Yours and a orange cover. Nice pickup!!

I'll have to scan some recent additions and show them off, but I've finally scored one of my personal grails-Tales from the Tube by Rick Griffith, and I'll scan it once it arrives.
Cool!! Is it the Surfer mag insert or the later edition?
It's the 1973 1st printing from Print Mint with the 50 cent cover price, still trying to find the 1971 insert from Surfer Mag as well.
PM me (thumbs u

Fantastic set of Weird Tales mags - I'm so jealous
Absolutely tremendous score!! Has WT ever been reprinted? Would love to read 'em!!
Zebra did a 4 book collection of the Best of WT, these books are collectible in and of themselves.
Many stories have been reprinted by various large and small press companys.
Girasol reprints a few of the Highly collectible issues page for page from actual scans of originals. These run about 40.00 as I remember. I am pretty sure they also have collected all the WT writings of Howard in a 2 or 3 volume set.

Well it would have been real close to completing my Robert E Howard Weird Tales appearances thats for sure! I have Owned/ and or own all the Keys including R.E.H.s first published work. [WT 7/25]
But I never hold on to Most Items very Long and Like the Pulps I have sold these also will be sent on to Collectors homes!

Took a chance on a Ebay collection that Really payed off!!
180 total issues.
Holy #*$#*! Nice collection!
No Kidding!!! Whats the PQ like on those babies??
Im in the process of looking them over, but from What I Have seen thus far, I would make an early Estimate of VG/FINE [Pulp Terms] with CRM/OW pages average.
A few a little less, but many nicer.
-
Holy Polaris Batman!!!!! That looks like an amazing collection Zilla!!!!! How many digits was the haul?
About What you would expect to Pay for One of the December 1932 issues and the October 1933 issues combined.
I was at the right place and the right time to be sure.
