Okajima Adventure Comics #91 on Clink
telerites replied to Comicsarefun's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Even non-camp coded Okajimas seem to bring premiums. This being a camp-coded, nice Kirby war cover, bright colors, decent PQ, and to me presents better than the 6.0. -
True

And another just back - it is not a Fawcett but it does feature some Fawcett characters. This is highest graded copy although it hasn't posted to the census yet. I have the original mailing envelope with it (pic below) and the back cover from the book shows the ad for the handbook.

Post Your Promotional Comic Books Here!!!!
telerites replied to esquirecomics's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
This one is pretty common and has been posted before. I have had mine for a while and as I going through some more boxes, I had forgotten it included the other advertising items and send-away card. -
The "Early" Action Comics Club (#1-24)
telerites replied to Wayne-Tec's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Love that cover. -
That is what he brings to OAFCON - a few boxes of his personal collection and some of catalog/online items. I bought this Prize from him a couple of years ago - it was raw and I have since had it slabbed.

You're such a tease And even if they are books I couldn't afford, your sales threads are always worth a peek to see some wonderful books. And awesome Planet, Rick.

Thanks, Andrew. Scans are all on myslabbedcomics.com - just a little plug for your efforts to create that site

This, I did not know. To put it mildly, he and BLB have dissimilar business approaches and ethics. Little wonder that partnership did not flourish.

Thank you, Corey and Walter. Like I said earlier, it has been an exhausting, frustrating, and expensive venture but it has also been exciting, fun, and in the end oh what a relief.

Thanks but I suspect there are others that have more then 10 copies of a single issue. Major Inapak comes to mind

And the #9 I kind of went/go bonkers on. When I started I was going to just collect the war covers of America's Best. Then I decided to try to get all the war covers of other series. I just ignored all the others, airbrushed especially. I saw them and just let them pass. So when I decided to try total completion, #9 was the first book outside of the war cover that I bought and just kept buying more copies of this one. I kick myself on not grabbing all those others early on because they weren't as pricey then. So instead of a single pic of each #9 - here is a group shot of all 10 copies.

That's awesome. I couldn't make it last year because of some problems. I used to order from his mail order catalog years ago and it was nice to finally meet him and he is a nice guy. He is certainly a collector. When I see him, he is usually box diving into GA books.
-
I don't blame him. BTW, he still comes to OAFCON every year. He and Mr. B seem to always have adjoining tables. I always hit them first - two of the good people in the business.

Yeah that was mine

DEAL. Edgar's copy isn't a doubler for me. The MH I doubt would sell for that multiplier now but still would garner more than the one that just sold. But forget that - my god, those are pretty books.
