  1. I do not believe it is a pedigree marking but just curious if anyone has seen it before. The only reason I ask it is on a relatively high grade copy of my Startling 47 with an old label. I hadn't noticed it before but as I was posting in my Nedor collection thread I happened to notice. The books and the a pic of the marking.
  2. Those are pretty cool, Bats. I have never seen them before and the colors are so bright. I like the slabbed book background too I wish I still had my 1970s bell-bottom jeans. I had one pair that was so covered in patches, you couldn't see the denim. Bats always has cool items and high quality too.
  3. Even with all the negs (6 negs in the last month, I think from unique buyers), the seller has 83 followers. I don't know if that is a lot or not but it seems like it is to me given the feedback. I still like Major Inapak though but no, I won't be bidding.
  4. I would have never known it was Schomburg, Pablo. GCD says it is and he signed it AS. Neato book.
  5. What? no Phantasmo - shocking! Seriously though, it is hard to think of any others not already mentioned if personal likes are not in play. The main DC characters have been around so long and displayed in various mediums throughout the years so it would be hard to beat them. Perhaps at one point, the King Features heroes had some sway like Flash Gordon and the Phantom but I can't imagine now many folks would know them. That to me is sad.
  6. The Bob Powell art in this book is excellent, imo as most of his art was. Too bad the book gets such a bad rap.
  7. Just don't forget you will pay taxes if you pay and pick up winning lots there or any state HA is in. I did it once and the taxes were more than the what the shipping fees would have been as I don't live in a HA state.
  8. For the first question, I always factor in the BP as I am placing a bid and although I do check GPA, I bid what I want depending how badly I may want the item. I have set a few GPA highs knowing I would be doing so if I won but they were for books I really wanted and don't see often. For the second question, the answer is the highest bid
  9. Rick I know this is like a student telling a professor something that they already know but here goes - I'm sure you know you can place snipe bids or use HA's live proxy bidding. And more importantly, enjoy Honduras and have a safe trip.
  10. 11-15. #15 was the last book I needed to complete the entire collection. Earlier this year, all within a month of each other, I picked up two coverless copies (bottom two pics) and then a raw, restored copy. I would love for this collection to be PLOD free but no way I can do that copies come up so rarely of some of these books and I am both exhausted and flat-walleted. By the way, Ed Wexler's art has a certain appeal to me just like Kin Platt. Both should get more credit. I also believe #14 is one of the most common issues (especially in high grade) of at least this series. I haven't checked the census - just from what I have seen.
  11. And to finish out this series 25 thru 29. When I was filtering through my boxes I guess I missed the 27 so it is still mixed in with my unsorted boxes but I have a scan of that book so using that. Startlings are next up but haven't ordered them and still need to take the pics.
  12. Finishing up the FYs. 11-15. 11 is another underappreciated GA bondage cover. Just a wild trip of a cover in between some great war covers. Duped up on 13 and 14. 15 is the Big Apple copy and another GGA in bondage getting a medieval manicure.
  13. RM - spending time with the grandkids anytime is well worthwhile. I met my great nephews at a LCS - they got a stack of comics and there were artists doing free sketches. One got a Superman and the other and Iron Man. It is the only day of the year I go to a LCS but it was great to see the smiles on their faces.
