  1. I think you mentioned no heirs to pass it on. You probably did the prudent thing in selling it. Congrats!
  2. Short termers are sweating bullets. Long termers (like me) don't really care. Checked your 401k lately? Now that's REAL money.
  3. Yeah big decisions with these books. Bought my first beater in ‘86 for $75 in store Little Rock, AR. Always wondered where that book is now. 🤔
  4. Enjoying the book is the fun of the hobby. Sounds like you’re more tuned to the dollar side. Nothing wrong with that. Prices will go up again. It’s all part of the Economics I game.
  5. (I'm a "retired" CPA and my ineptness on taxes show. ) Yep his cost basis is called a "stepped up" basis which is the value assigned at the time of inheritance. Agreed, the capital gains tax owed is on the amount above the cost basis at the time of sale.
  6. I believe he is correct on the tax implications. Sell now. If you wait a couple of years or so, you'll pay a capital gain on the appreciation. I'm sure they wont go down in value.
  7. When prices do go up, it's probably better to have one than not to have one.
  8. Bottom line if you sell, sell based on need not panic.
  9. I really have no intention on selling mine. It’s in a Trust Fund and my 2 year old grandson will have it one day.
  10. 401k’s lost 20% last year. Inflation is astronomical. Makes sense collectible prices are low. Patience everyone.😊
  11. Very soft price at $290. An 8.0 sold for $610 a couple of years ago. The highest I recall. it’s a wait and see market right now. No way I’d sell.
  12. How cool is Rod's tv set. Tuning knobs and rabbit ears.
  13. I don't miss the office doing strategic planning and line graphs
