Korvac Saga
Just back from joeypost and CGC.....one of my very favorite JIM's....Loki and Thor go round and round from one end of Manhatten to the other GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u WOW Jimbo! KILLER KOPY! back story...? ....purchased in the early 70's from an Engineering student who was selling his books (purchased off the rack) to help fund Grad School......for the Highway Robbery sum of $ 11......GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u While I was learning to read + just discovering comics in the early '70s, you were making sweet deals like this!! Great book Jim!! What do you figure the grade was pre-pressing? It was the same grade, I submit everything through Joe and his price for a press is so low I just had it done. The press did close the gap at the reading edge, leaving less book exposed on the right. It was actually a friend who bought the book in the early 70's....I ended up with it about a year ago. At that show, I actually got an even better deal at the end of the show....I got a different JIM85 in about the same grade AND an X-men 1 in about 9.0 for $ 10 for the pair. Needless to say, I miss the early 70's. I wish I still had those books. GOD BLESS... Great story, sounds like absolute heaven on earth for comic geeks!! -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
jimjum12
It really was. Half the dealers back then were college students trying to raise money for school. People never brought thousands of dollars to a show...you didn't have to. But the really cool stuff was a lot more scarce. For perspective, at the show where I snagged the X-MEN 1 in 9.0 for $ 5, a fellow had dozens of high grade pre hero Marvels for $ 5 a piece....same as the X-MEN 1. At another show I bought a NM copy of FF 5 for $ 20, but I almost spent my only $ 20 on a VG Weird Science with Frazetta art. It seemed like everything was $ 1, 3, 5, 10, or 20. Abook that cost $ 100 was one HELL of a book. $ 100 would get you SWEET copies of FF 1, Hulk 1, AF 15, and ASM 1.....all 4 for a hundred. It was so much more laid back....very few worried what they could resell the books for someday....it was just the coolest hobby ever. You didn't even know what was in most books until you actually found a copy. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a fiend of jesus) (thumbs u

Hawkman23
I was looking at the JIM 83 4.5 again, and it just simply looks better than the grade given, it could easily pass for a 5.5.
