This guy has a room dedicated to statues of that scale...in addition to the rest of his "normal sized" collection. Check out that Galactus you were asking about being dwarfed in the corner of the room: Wow! Those are HUGE!!! I have the Sideshow Great Ultron statue. It's pretty damn big and dwarfs my Bowens, even the big ones like Giant Man. As much as I LOVE Ultron, I almost regret buying it because its a pita to display. That Ultron isn't even half the size of this Doom one!!! I just can't buy statues that are the same size as my 11 1/2 year old!!! One thing I keep forgetting is that I don't have a comic collection or collect anything else really, so as big as these things are, I can find the space. That being said, 1/2 scale is too much for me, both in terms of price and space. 1/4 scale (like your Ultron) is about perfect for me, because you get the detail and presence for a lot less real estate and a lot less dough. Wait!!! You dont collect comics brotha?!? Yeah, if I didn't have two book cases filled with 800 slabs and another 20 long boxes of raws filling my comic room, I'd have room for WAY more MsMarvel booties!!!

4 feet tall?!?!? What the hell!!! That's the same size as my dang kids!!!
-
COI, did you get the Sideshow Galactus? That thing is awesome and I don't even like Galactus! It's just so freaking big though! I can't justify spending almost a grand on something I don't have room to display no matter how cool it looks.

I'll vote for a very specific theme. Off the top of my head, I'd say something like MsMarvel booties??? I'm at 5 and counting
-
Ummmm, there BETTER be a sweet whale tail hiding in the back if that statue Cahokie!
-
Best $800 spent EVER! Look at it this way buddy, you're spending a couple hundred to look at freaking Venoms , why not spend a little more to have THAT
-
TRUTH! Yuh!!! Just for references sake

She's no Ms Marvel (thumbs u

Too late for that unfortunately! The only fortunate part was for the most part, they were ones I would NEVER sell anyways so I don't have to worry about that! Moving them is gonna suck though! Of course, as most of you probably know, the Ms Marvel ones will be sitting on my lap for the car ride during the move anyways!

I have about 25 statues between Bowens and Sideshows. A few years ago, I bought one and the floodgates opened On a side note, in our office I had a bunch of old boxes with bubble wrap and cardboard from comics I bought that I end up reusing. Like a week ago, My wife asked and I told her she could throw them away. I go home and find out she took it upon herself to clean out the boxes from our back bathroom we don't use. Those were like 8-10 Sideshow/Bowen statue boxes I have been slacking with and never got around to putting in the attic with the others!

What's new in your Silver Age collection this week
sufunk replied to Silver's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Out of curiosity, how much of the first 100 do you still have left? Seems like you make acquisitions fairly regulalry. I believe that i now have 76 of the 1st 100. I'm missing like half of the 1st 16 still, just too expensive to get uber HG copies of those. I gotta wait and try to find 9.2-9.4's. I haven't updated my Registry i a LONG time. Theres probably at least 10-15 Pedigree issues missing off of my Pedigree registry After that, my run is getting pretty damn complete except for 60-80. Those damn issues are freaking HARD to find!!! -
What's new in your Silver Age collection this week
sufunk replied to Silver's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Its no 9.6 DD1 but this book filled a MAJOR hole in my Pedigree run and was one of the issues i thought would take FOREVER to find! So freaking psyched to find a Green River, white pages, bright colored, perfectly registered copy!!! -
Awesome books buddy! I'm always torn with other Pedigree collectors. On one hand, I love having other people as into Pedigree as I am. On the other hand, I'm like " there's one more vulture bidding me up on the Pedigree books I want!"

And I thought I got drek! Suck it greggy
-
Yeah, i knew i'd catch flak on that one 8.5's dont bother me as long as its one defect that brings it down usually. From the scan it looks like a 9.4-9.6 book with one little scrunch on the outer cover. Either way, i need an 84 and it went cheap so my OCD required the purchase

More crappo Avengers drek for me. Got these in the HA auction last night for my run

In the running for having one of the worst mis-wraps?
sufunk replied to musicmeta's topic in Comics General
This is one of the worst i have. I usually dont mind even miswraps but e=uneven ones like this drive me CRAZY!!! I got this like a year ago in a CC auction. I LOVE Suscha News books and this one SHATTERED the gpa low for a 9.6 so for the price, i can live with the miswrap. -
How did you come up with your forum name and avatar?
sufunk replied to The-Collector's topic in Comics General
I went to Syracuse and am a SU basketball nutcase so that's what mine is. Syracuse University funk That's been my board name or email address since the early 90's for like every single site or email that doesn't require numbers -
Should just be locked as a warning for future listings. I cant see the point of poofing it so there is no record of this attempted scam
-
No one will believe me but for two months I have been looking for a copy. When the news came out I thought I better act fast before it was so expensive I could never justify it. I kept track on the 9.6 copy that ended in the last comic link auction but thought the price was too aggressive. Oh how I was wrong. There was a 9.8 Pedigree copy on ebay last week that i wanted with a fairly aggressive price. I was going to buy it but was just waiting until after i saw how much i dropped in the HA auction next week. I had no clue at all Ultron was even a possibility for Avengers 2 though. Now the listing is gone and im sure will be put back up at like 4x's the previous price

Nothing. Relist tomorrow.

Try to send them a pm and if they have you on ignore, it wont allow you to and will tell you that youre on ignore

Theres still some good deals to be had on ebay, you just gotta keep your eyes open. The dude is a scumbag but honestly, you would have to be retarded to bid 13k on that auction.
