What book would you buy?

12 posts in this topic

I am considering buying a book, the seller happens to have 2 of them. Both books are in identical condition and grade ( approximately a 2.5-3.0 ) with the exception of the following 2 defects:

1. Book 1 has a carefully applied piece of tape upon the entire spine of the book from top to bottom. the spine is not split at all ( that I can tell ). The tape is now rather yellowed.

2. Book 2 has a significantly large ( 1" diameter ) tape pull on the front cover.

Consider that both books grade the exact same with exception to these mentioned defects.

How does each defect typically affect the grade and which book would you buy between the 2?

I personally am leaning to the tape pull copy...

Thanks in advance for the input.

it going to depend on the location and amount of the tape pull from book 2

I would go with which ever copy was more pleasing to the eye since both are in the 2.5/3.0 range
