sckao wanted to see some of my comic book promo posters, so here is the evidence of a misspent youth working at the LCS for store credit.

There is a white 12 inch ruler in the pics so you can guage the size of each poster.

Cool ! :applause:

You worked in an LCS and were paid in comics and merchandise?

I was supposed to be paid an hourly wage but the LCS always ran out of cash on my pay day, so I would just order more & more funny books from the Destiny Distributers catalog (this is WAY back when there was more than just Diamond and Capitol City Distribution) or trade my slave labor towards hi-grade SA. :luhv:

I also got to consign my vg Avengers 1, Action 252, Gt Sz X-men 1 overstock to the LCS.

You know.., I remember them including some of these posters with my Westfield orders during the 1980's. I wonder if they're in a box somewhere...

I came across an X-Force and Vampirella poster and some others too from various buys recently in my garage actually.

Around 1986-87, DC had Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, Miller's Dark Knight, Eclipse had Miracle Man (from UK Warrior mag) and Marvel unleashes Beta Ray frog. wtf?

I have not had any luck searching for 70s promo posters at local cons or SDCC. Earliest 1 I have is from Death of Capt Marvel 1st printing. Guess Marvel pulled out all the stops to promote their 1st newfangled square bound hm graphic novel format.

I ended up getting my grail promo poster from when I was a kid on ebay a few years back. The Mutant Massacre poster. Printed similar to the ones posted in this thread (on heavy paper), it features Simonson art and is printed in black white and red. Shows tunnels connecting to each issue involved in the greatest crossover ever!!!

I have boxes of promo posters, love that stuff, but tend to think sometimes I need to move some of it lol
