An open apology to all NOD members

56 posts in this topic

I would like to apologise for just being "me". My wife once gave me a t-shirt with "I'm Sorry" printed on the front and back and told me I should wear it as often as possible.I once gave her a shirt that said "I'm smiling because my husband has a big d%$k". She laughed, never wore it and I've never seen it again. Women are different than men.

Perhaps she is just a very honest person. :baiting:

In another thread in the Gold section I directed a remark at a member of NOD. This remark was ill advised and unfortunate as it was derogatory of all NOD members. I want to openly and sincerely apologize for this. While not a member, I certainly am an advocate of many of the ideas set forth by NOD. And I count many members of NOD among my closest friends in the hobby. To them and to all I humbly say I am sorry.

Now, back to the funnybooks....

Aww c'mon Richie stop walking on eggshells. I dont think anything you said was that bad. You reacted to a post Mark made that you felt was uncalled for, I read it the same way you did initially but glossed over it.

It is hard sometimes to remember to separate comments made by forumites who are also members of NOD as not representative of NOD itself, but rather just personal opinion.. But at the same time I would like to think they could appreciate the fact why some might read into certain statements or comments made given the subject matter.

And in this case.. no harm, no foul as I read it.

I swear lately some of you are wearing your feelings on your sleeves. Leave all the sappy sentimental crahp to guys like me. It doesn't suit you.

Ze,

I know you kind of are the peace keeper here, but I was reading the thread and I was a little disappointed by the comments myself. I like Richard & Mark, I understand both side's oppinions on the topic which I will simply code-name "Pancake", but one thing I would really like to see more of, here on these baords, is an appreciation for differing oppinions. My own oppinion is there is nothing wrong with "Pancakes" as long as you are made aware that they are "Pancakes". Wether or not you choose "Pancakes" is then up to you, the informed "Pancake" buyer. Mark is very passionate about calling a "Pancake" a "Pancake" and, in some instances, a little pushy about it. But in the end he means the best for the hobby. Anyway, keeping it civil is the way to go, and I appreciate that Richard is reaching out to patch any damning remarks. :golfclap:

Damn Tree Huggers.. :baiting:

Seriously though, I gave up trying to "keep the peace" around here long ago, we all have opinions and are allowed to express them and I was foolish to think people wanted to hear me chiming in with my 2c all the time, even if my intentions were sincere.

Richards comments to me were not all that damning (in my eyes at least) , I guess to others they were. While I agree it is never a bad thing to reach out and make amends when needed, and to always treat each other as we want to be treated. But honestly what was said was pretty tame and if we have come to the point that things are so hyper sensitive that the remarks Richard made require a formal apology then I think we are all taking this more then a little too seriously.

I'm not saying it was wrong to apologize. Richard is a stand up guy and I respect him for that, I was just saying it was not really necessary.

Lets get back to the comic book talky talk.

I agree, but there is one unspoken rule that has applied to the GA forum: The GA forum has been an island of civility, for the most part, and discontent is usually reserved for the other forums.......usually Comics General where most anything goes.

Anyway, I appreciate that Richard did what he did. (thumbs u

As for the "Tree Hugger"..................STFU! :baiting:
