Frankenstein 1,2,6,7 Prize Comics 1945 and a Green Hornet #1 Gold Key

I'm parting a lot of stuff out to fund other purchases.

 

First the Frankenstein #1

Raw, complete, slight roll at the bottom left. Copy is complete. I would grade this at a VG. I'm still trying to work out a price on this issue. Neat Stuff Collectables is offering $200 for G copies, and $300 for VG on this issue. But I found a site that has a graded copy in Fair/Good for $525. Any ideas on this? Anyone?

Complete, great color. Small chip at the top and bottom missing.

Lastly is a Green Hornet #1 from Gold Key.

 

Decent Solid copy. For some reason, a kid back in the day decided to take green marker to the Hornet's eyes and shirt. (See scan) Copy is complete, would make a nice affordable filler. G/Vg

Well...my insight on the #1 is, the FRG for $525 proves that seller is deluded. Most of the demand for this title is in the serious horror issues towards the end of the run. I think a fair price for a VG #1 is $200-$250, and your copy looks really attractive for the grade.

Thanks for the input...the Fr/G copy is in no way worth 525. He notes it should be a Gerber 9...It is a tough book to find, but not that tough...some of the other numbers from the run are tougher to find.

Complete, would grade it as a VG. White cover is still white. Some wear on the lower back cover, not a stain.

Copy would have graded as a VF if it wasn't for the creasing at the top of the cover.

It doesn't go through the whole book, which makes me wonder if it was from binding on the way to the newstand. Copy is complete and glossy, displays well, and is more than an adequate filler if you are putting a run together.

 

I grade this one as a VG/F
