The Less Blob
kind of amazing that they're trying to sell $570 rings out of a comic book. 10 karat gold? for real? I can only imagine how bad the diamonds were then. onlyweaknesskryptonite

(Might need to take new shots, some are below the quality I'd like - but kinda feels like ... work ) Click on an image to see full size To quote the movie Citizen Kane, this would be the "Rosebud" of my collection - the set I love the most. Nothing else really comes close. You're my "Hero" now. This nearly 9.8 with some 9.6 set is AWESOME! I only have graded 1-26 and Annual 1 in 9.6 except for 22 and 25, they are my only 9.8s. A lot of them were sold from overseas bases. Which is why they can be harder to find , especially in high grade. I live in an area with a lot of bases and I always keep an eye out at local comic shops as these do turn up there due to collections being liquidated there. Rune
Seems Conan prices are going up these days - this CoB #1 9.8 just went over 10k: https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/history.asp?item=1504052&back=%2Fauctions%2Fitem.asp%3Fback%3D%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH%2EASP%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Dconan%2520the%2520barbarian%26ItemType%3DCB%26pg%3D2%23Item%5F1504052%26id%3D1504052%26itemType%3D0 Not sure I've seen any #1 9.8 go beyond 10k before... - and #23 9.6 sold for nearly 2k: https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/history.asp?item=1506086&back=%2Fauctions%2Fitem.asp%3Fback%3D%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH%2EASP%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Dconan%2520the%2520barbarian%26ItemType%3DCB%26pg%3D3%23Item%5F1506086%26id%3D1506086%26itemType%3D0 I think I have 2 #23 9.6 lying around somewhere just as backup, lol. Rune
Btw, just checked GPAnalysis, CoB #1 9.6 now sells for 5k, #23 9.8 recently sold for 6k (HA.com) and #23 9.6 have sold for 2k, so the Comiclink prices do not stand alone. CoB #24 also got a nice boost, but the first Sonja still takes the lead... Many CoB #1-24 9.8 are so rare that we can't see new price trends, thus easier checking 9.6 grades and here some trends are quite strong. I can post some pics later. Rune
Some prices Conan #1 CGC 9.6 now sells for the old 9.8 price :-) So 5K for a 9.6: - and everybody loves Sonja :-) Seems prices are exploding within the last 3 months or so. Issue 2 going strong too - but since 9.8 is extremely scarce, 9.6 shows the trend: - and issue 3: So we're getting that Netflix Conan show Btw, selling Conan books is like selling your kids, of course no sane person would do that - thus the above is just for the curiosity Edited October 6, 2021 by Rune grendelbo and picon3

Good to see there's still some Conan interest out there. That Conan Buscema portfolio is really nice. Even though I don't collect any more, I'd buy it if I saw it. Brian48
This thread needed a bump. Admittedly, I haven't kept up with what's been published in the last couple of years, but when I found out that someone finally had the stones to adapt Red Nails after almost 50 years since the Thomas/Smith version, I had to check it out. While I was at it, I picked up volumes II and III as well, which are also new adaptation of Howard's original stories.
