For 2007, what book did you lose at the last minute (or it was sold before you even knew about it) that made you want to

 

I had some good pick-ups this year, BUT....

lost a JLA #45 CGC 9.4 on e-bay at the very last second... ....so hard to find

Also, a JLA #74 (one of my favorite covers---Earth 1 superman vs. Earth 2 superman) in CGC 9.4 sold for $280 before I even knew about it

I lost two X-men 139 9.8s with white pages before I finally landed one.

There's been a few...usually a BIN that got snapped up within a few hours of being put on ebay. A recent Black Cat 50 in FN+ for $475 springs to mind.

 

Not that many auctions where I've been outbid and regretted bidding higher though. There has to be a ceiling for every book.....

I won an auction for a Captain America #21 CGC 9.8 (current series), and the seller lost the book while holding it for me.

I remember that. Recently won a couple of books from the same seller. Everything went smoothly. Still, I was leery after your experience. I am sorry you had such problems.

Nothing that stands out this year. I did pass on a B&B #28 (my grail) back in 2006 that I probably should've jumped on.

2 things:

 

1) A very reasonably priced Ebay lot of Gemstone Uncle Scrooge squarebounds that BIN'd a few hours before I made my daily search.

 

2) Just found out that 4 of the books in my want list in my sig were at Heritage in August. August was when I got back in to collecting after a few years off. If anybody knows who bought them, let me know please.

A pristine copy of Hawkman 2 on Ebay that I just forgot to bid on...and it ended with no one hitting it's very low opening bid. Then it got reposted and it went for a mint...

I missed out o two Detectives off Metropolis that I asked for pricing on and someone bought them before I could. That's what I get for waiting rather than having them hold them for me.

I missed a 9.8 copy of X-Men 97 that I know I will regret some day.

Sold for a measly $510 on pedigree. White pages, and a beautiful front cover.
