Good news!

Not really comic related, but I wanted to share with the people that I spend quite a bit of my time with. wink.gif

After being out of work for over a week now I'll start my new job on Tuesday! It's a contract position so who knows how long it will last, but the good news on that score is it will be almost double my last salary! grin.gif The scope is a bit different than my last position so I won't be able to post to the forum at work. wink.gif

Hope they let you wear your porno ties !!

You kidding! That's all Dave will be allowed to wear!!! Didn't he tell you he's the headline act at the new all male Seattle strip joint version of the Bada Bing!

Picture Dave dancin on poles, wearing nothing but that Wonder Woman tie...it boggles the mind and wrenches my gut all at the same time (cue in Crying Game theme song)...

lol! Congrats Dave - anything that gets you off the street has got to be good news! wink.gif

Congratulations! If you can pull that off in this kind of economy, more power to you. And the fact that it's a contract position might not be all bad - you can use all that extra filthy lucre you're making to buy some comics or take a trip or something whenever the contract finally runs out!

In related news, the unemployment rate here in New York is ridiculous...2 more of my friends were let go this week from their jobs. Anybody who tells you the economy is getting better is smoking crack. The Greenwich Village Halloween Parade last night was very sparsely attended compared to previous years and most people did not even bother to shell out $$$ for a costume - US consumer confidence is at a 9-year low and it shows.

As insane as they were, I miss the days of 2-3 years ago when everybody's cup runneth over!

The good part about that is I can decline any position I don't want. They already asked me about Oak Harbor (about 1 1/2 hours away - for those that don't live in WA) and I said I'd rather pass on that one. I certainly wouldn't rule it out altogether, but I can be choosy right now. wink.gif
