On the games.yahoo chess site, how do u enter personal messages to other player at start or end of game? Do u have to join & pay for their "all star" or whatever they call it yahoo package?

On the Backgammon and Chess sites when you first select 'Play' it takes you to one of the 'areas' where there is a group of players (or you can select which area you want to go to.) On that screen it shows a list of the games in progress. Right below the games is a line that says: 'Say:' Just click in the field next to it, type your message, and press enter. While you are in this area, the message shows up on everyones screen who is also in the area. If you get a game going, the same 'Say:' field shows up, but your messages only go to your opponent (or anyone who is watching your game.)

White is in a difficult way. Down a knight. But does have a little bit of play left. If he can prevent black from queening a pawn by taking advantage of some temporary displacement of black's pieces, he could squeak out a draw. But it will be hard.

This is going on the records as the longest game of chess, ever.

My record over the board is 8 1/2 hours at the Mid-Missouri open in 1974. Took me 118 moves to finally win a pawn race by a single tempo. My first victory over an expert. He just didn't want to lose against a (then) C player. 27_laughing.gif
