So whats the lowest a ff#1 has ever gone for?..

Call me odd, but I'd rather save up the extra $15,350 and spring for the #55 9.9! (thumbs u

Oh I see, thee was a sale of a 9.6 on pedigree the other night for $3,000, and went straight to Doug's set. (I had to approve the transfer on the registry, though I was the earlier previous owner).

So Doug slipp's 2 grades on the #55, and pockets $13,000 for the previlage lol

Nice. For 13K.......I'd put up with a single spine break or slightly rounded corner as well. :insane:

When you put it that way, it's scary to think of those increments and the price paid.

But arguably there are real world comparitives...high performance car's vs super car's. An extra second or so off the 0-60 time, can mean another $100,000 to $200,000 on the asking price, and more!

Sure....but do these super cars lose those extra seconds if you shake them? :insane:

Here's mine. I paid $700 for it here on the boards 2 or 3 Decembers ago. It was initially advertised for more ($850, I think), but I got a sweet deal on it (and free priority shipping, to boot! And it was even delivered on Christmas DAY!) because I had the money right then and there (since it was close to Christmas, everyone else who expressed interest would need some time to come up w/ the money). I love it love it love it!!!

What company delivers on Christmas Day?

The Post Office. :gossip:

In some areas, some carriers work Christmas morning to deliver packages that look like they may be gifts. I had a Priority Box show up on Christmas morning 2 years ago.

I spoke to my postal carrier about it. He told me there are usually a few guys willing to work some hours on Christmas morning (for double time pay I suppose )

Since I've heard of Christmas deliveries happening elsewhere, I presume it's not just a local thing.

Now is it even worth owning a beat up copy like this or should one just shell out and pay for one in a bit finer shape?.. Will this book ever go down in value or up?.. I wonder if marvel will ever redo and remake the FF movies?.. Spiderman movies seem to have affected the price on spidey books greatly!

How many people here even have a FF #1?.. Why not tell us what you paid for it now and post you're pic of it ?:)

I sold a 1.8 copy on the boards for $800 last year.

Got a pic?.. Would give me an idea of what a 1.8 looks like?

I paid 50-cents for mine in 1971 out of a fanzine ad...

I'll post scan later (I'm at work...photobucket blocked...) :headbang:

Picked this up with a very quick (and lucky) BIN a year ago. FF1 coverless and FF3 missing 1/2 cover for $160 for the pair. Perfect filler copies for now. :D

Have you thought of a cover recreation by Fedora? He does great work.
