One thing I will add about this cover's artwork is that it makes a layout "sin". It's a bad way to present Spider-man within a cover layout. Maybe as an interior panel, but not for a cover. I think the "How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way" has an area about this. Plus I seem to remember there's an article on how they came up with the original Superman Vs. Spider-Man cover. Interesting points in how to size, etc.
