(as per request) How about a magazine appreciation thread....

Doomed was a great short lived run... I think I have an extra #4 if you need it.

Too bad the production of those magazines were ultra slick and ultra bowed. Would be incredibly hard to find truly high grade copies even though they are only a year or too old due to the spines.

I loved Doomed though. I bought the trade so I don't have to handle the magazines anymore.

Thanks, I have the #4 issue (both covers) just not scanned in yet.

I also loved this mag and had high hopes for it but they "Doomed" themselves by upping the price from 7.99 to 10.99 iirc in just 4 issues! :odoh!

And yeah, they were so bowed I couldn't even bag 'em till after they sat under a stack 'o mags for about a month!

Sanjulian! :cloud9:

One of my all time favorite Manuel covers. Great design, color and draftsmanship.

Here are some sites Sanjulian fans might like to visit.

A third site of his work is gone. If others have more

Manuel sites I would like to see them.

Warren reused this art again later for the Ring of the Warlords book

Yeah, that's a special one that most won't recognize (especially in the condition it's in) and a Grail in my collection... :cloud9:

If you haven't seen that All Stars (#2) before, you'll be more than happy with how special that issue is and how much art it's got loaded in it (and how can you not love that Griffin cover?).

I love that Mag. :o Is it hard to find? I've got to have one. CGC 9.8

Not too hard to find, although if you're looking for 9.8s that might get tough. (shrug)

I thought it probably would be hard to find in that high of grade. I would like to find a high grade copy of that issue. I'll have to take note of it and watch the bay. Thanks for posting it Jayman.
