Popular Post ExNihilo
Overall, extremely ecstatic with the books I got back today. These first two books were from my dad's collection. I could have just kept them in mylar since I have no intention of ever parting with these, but I was curious to see what grades they would get so I sent them off. Considering how people were less protective of their books than we are today and based on the checkered storage history (the books spent time tucked away in a basement and then garage - in an area with moderate temperatures and low humidity...but still...effectively outdoors), I was expecting something more along the lines of a 7.0. So I was very pleasantly surprised to see these high marks. I also picked up a copy of Fantastic Four #49 from a boardie a while back. I think it was originally described as Fine+, so I was very happy to get it back with a 7.0. I was aiming to get as close to an 8.0 as possible but with the way the cost of the trilogy has shot up the last few months, the price started to get away from me so I kinda took whatever I could get. Overall, I'm very happy with the score on it and now I just need to find a #50 in the 7.0-8.0 range to complete the trilogy. Final thoughts regarding this latest batch of books..I noticed all three books have no newton rings when you look at them straight on. Certainly not to the same extent as some other books we've seen on these boards. From an angle, you can see some faint rings, but nothing outrageous. I find this really impressive considering I would expect the black covers for Thor and FF to really highlight any rings that might be present. But as you can see from the images (with my reflection...sorry), the rings are largely non-existent. I'm not sure if I got lucky or if CGC has somehow changed their slabbing process, but whatever it is, i'll take it. Last thing, all three books were pressed. joeypost, STORMSHADOW_80, nepatkm and 5 others 7

Popular Post jsilverjanet
Finally 2 tough books to hit 9.8 The Solar 10 has been a 3 year journey with many submissions - I had actually given up earlier this year (April) and said I'd never submit another copy Edited November 21, 2018 by jsilverjanet Not A Clone, I like pie, JJ-4 and 8 others

Karl Liebl
I found out why I am getting hammered on these seemingly nice books... STAINS! It is ok and I will learn on future submissions...

Popular Post ADAMANTIUM
Well I debated posting this as it is a sensitive subject... I sent this off to be pressed by a boardie in late July, and it even got lost in the mail 2-3 weeks in September into October, after the pressor mailed it CGC.....then there was the passing of a beloved creator! It got a 0.5 bump from 2.5 to 3.0, this has taught me that not all things are equal. Sometimes almost losing a momento of someone you felt that you knew personally can make you question and realize just how temporal we all are. I'm glad to have this back! Yes I was a noob and just hearing about signature series in 2016.... yes it was an IH 181 signed by Stan Lee.... yes I joined the boards later that year, and yes, I will always be grateful for those things that are passed on 707comics, STORMSHADOW_80, Not A Clone and 5 others
ADAMANTIUM
Even though I sent this back in July 2018 to be pressed, I figured it still might be to soon to post it.... and I don't see a lot of people post their press results... All the same I was thankful to have it back, as events unfolded while it was gone from July until December 1st..... I can delete the post if needed, don't want to upset the apple cart.....
