Wonder Bread?

Using white bread is silly - all you end up with is crumbs on the floor. Eraser pads (the cloth bags filled with ground up eraser material) are the best. Have to be gentle, it's easy to turn a microscopic tear into a big one....

The eraser pads you refer to are actualy better to clean the desk or table surface you're using before inspecting books. :makepoint: The eraser particulates are a little harsh to use on cover stock. If you look closely at where you have used this method you will see very fine abrasions to the cover surface. Only white gum eraser should be used, with limited purpose, and with great care. Dry cleaning, when done wrong, is very easy to detect, and I for one, consider it a serious defect. :)

Dont let no greasy bread touch your comics. Especially if youve access to absorbine.

Right. Wonder bread is just silly... don't do it. Basically the clean white bread acts as a sponge and the light oil acts as a solvent. It may work but one is really wiping oily bread on the paper. (tsk)

If one must dry clean, buy a white art eraser for 89 cents and do it right. Very, very gently use it in white areas only. It will smear or remove color inks. Clean the dirty tidbits from the eraser promptly because you don't want to be rubbing the dirty grains of eraser into the paper.

Agreed - very silly. Anyone who uses white bread will find that they won't repeat the effort
