Death of Superman Art

Nice page Keith.

This is a timely thread, as I've just picked up a page from the Reign of the Supermen saga. Here's the link -

Enjoy.

Also, can anyone tell me why my avatar changed without me doing it? It went from mischievous Peter Rabbit to what appears to be a mint condition Indian Head coin. Of course, I can change it back, but would like some insight as to what happened. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Cool page! I've picked up several pages from Reign of the Supermen and a couple from Funeral for a Friend too. I'd love to get more.

I'd love to get a page from the death os Superman!

May I ask how you guys find those pages?

CAF? Private deals?

Catskill Comics still has some decent pages from the Funeral for a Friend series and from Reign of the Superman (pages from Superman #77-79) in Brett Breeding's section. The selection has dwindled a lot over the past year, but that's where I got these two:

http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Page=1&Order=Date&Piece=187255&GSub=29725&GCat=0&UCat=0

I got two other pages from Superman #76 last year (one of the Funeral for a Friend issues) off of eBay last year:

If you need any other info, Ares, shoot me an e-mail (you've still got it, right? - if you don't, PM me) - Keith

Ares-

I lucked into the page I found on eBay.

Hoped to find a nice page from the series someday, and -- unlike for the vast majority of things in which I am interested, -- someday came a little sooner than later.

Not too long ago, Dan Gallo had that large image double page spread in which Superman returned in issue 82 (or so) on his CAF, and then it was on eBay, but I don't know if it sold. That was a big ticket item.

Other than that double paged spread and Kevin's suggestion, I haven't seen any other dealers that currently have pages from that storyline.

Good luck!

Catskill is where I got some of my Supes art as well. I had my eye on that #77 page for some time. I wish I had pulled the trigger on it. Congrats on adding it to your collection! :)

I got this Reign beauty off of eBay some time ago. Still one of my faves.

I've found that donating a kidney to the seller's sick grandmother helps. Trouble is, I'm out of organs. lol

Seriously though, be vocal about what you're looking for (send an email to a few dealers and ask them if they have anything or know of anybody who does and let them know you're looking). CAF is good to see what other people have, sometimes they sell, but usually not (in my experience). And set up keyword searches on ebay, heritage, etc to alert you if anything comes on the market.

Good luck!

Steve
