Matt Nelson is now 'Comic Book Pedigrees'? :o

Specialising in the 'Potentialized Pedigree', I assume. meh

He's had multiple web store fronts for a while... He's been using CBP for dispersing of pedigree collections and to help advertise the book. Of course, his restoration/preservation/conservation site (classicsincorporated.com) is still up and running too...

Looks like pastimperfekt forgot to take his meds.......
Someone must have packaged his slabs wrong. He sends a very long email with specific instructions.

Oh, does he ever.

He won 3 HULKs from me 2 months back, was VERY specific about shipping and told me that if it was basically too much to handle, then he'd rather have his money and not have anything shipped.

To a point, I DO actually understand. But I ask people politely about taking extra care because there are WAY way too many dunderheads who don't take proper care in shipping books, and they get person_without_enough_empathyed up en route.

But he is very specific down to the size of the box you need to mail them in.

Looks like the books had distribution ink and that got under his skin.

When I had my ASM #194 cgc 9.8 up for auction pastimperfekt asked if it had any distribution overspray.

Well Matt loses what looks like a big time spending customer over a few hundred dollar slabs what a dummy!

I sometimes include polite packaging requests to people I feel don't know how to package. I have recieved books shipped in all forms.

Thick cardboard placed in the centerfold

MY FC #178 HG raw was shrinkwrapped

and many other forms.

I don't know...sometimes it's better to have peace of mind vs. a troublesome customer...

Pastimperfekt would make a great case study for someone writing a thesis or book on the psychology of collecting. His behavior and buying habits along with an ebay handle that just screams for analysis make for a very interesting individual (from a psychological point-of-view).

Weird, I was just looking at that one myself. Pastimperfekt left Silver Age a neg (later mutually withdrawn) for non-receipt of the book after a month. Small world....

People like pastime are strict in their wants but are loyal and have no problem bringing in other like minded customers.

It seems the problem was perhaps undisclosed/hidden ink overspray, why would you not take the books back to keep a big spender happy? Short term gain over a long time loss. :screwy:

I'm sure it something more. If I was the seller and a buyer starts going all mental on me, I'd have no trouble whatsoever banning him from buying from me regardless of how much he was spending. Not saying it happened here as we don't know all the details...

That's because you're practically giving away your drek and I've heard you provide favors to big spenders. :gossip:
