I try to grade books posted in this section unbiased, without seeing what other folks have posted, in an effort to test myself too. Maybe I'm way off on this one, but my initial gut was only 6.5-7.0?

 

Forum concensus appears to be much higher, but I felt that those spine ticks add up fast and in the scan on the back cover the top staple appears too dark (ie: perhaps showing a bit of corrosion, or additional toning)? I always felt that was a notable hit?

 

Still, it's a very nice book w/ clean edges though. Hmmm, maybe I'm simply too rough on my own stuff...?

Spine Ticks. Plus that nasty line going from the S in Ours over to the right edge of the book. No way does this book garner a 8.5 or 9.0 IMHO. Front cover, right corner crease as well. I would say a nice 6.5
