Comics with playing card or poker covers

54 posts in this topic

Newbie here.

I am hunting for comics with playing card or poker covers. My key issue is Batman #11 (7.0 restored) but I am looking to compile a list of books to hunt for. I have found several great covers by stumbling around, but know there have to be a ton I need to add to my "to buy" list, especially in the old Western comic books.

If anyone is collecting similar and is willing to share some ideas, or even post some covers, that would be great.

Some great ones I am hunting for include Cannonball Comics #1, Tec #118 and the always poplular Lucky Duck #6.

I once collected gambling covers but gave up years ago. I still have some though. Pat the Brat # 1(?) has a great poker cover.

I'll look around and PM you when I find them. They cheap but cool!

Well, picked up three blue label 9.8 Gambits cheaply on eBay ($15 ea.) , but it was those great older books I need to hunt for. Thanks for all the help guys. Nice books and you doubled the length of my list.

Thanks to all for the help so far all.

That DC All-Star Western is great. I also was not aware of the Moon Knights or even the new X-Men so those too are on the list.

I have the others, but my autographed Emma is not slabbed so obviously ineligible for the SS series. Nice books everyone.

As was mentioned before that probably any of the books that have gambit on the cover most likely has a chance of playing cards. www.comicvine.com would probably be a good place to search for Gambit and see what books he appears in and then check the covers. Site was down this morning but probably be up later.

Captain America #68 has a playing card cover (check recent posts in the Timely thread in GA)

Wow, I had never noticed that. Well, guess I need to get a second job. Since I have Batman #11, this one is now the next grail in line - at least price wise.

Thanks for the heads up.

I've been trying for the Tec #118, but it seems to regularly go for more than guide and I haven't been willing to pull the trigger. Nice copy. :headbang:
