Shows this weekend. I will be around all show, getting CGC SS books done for Forum members and hanging out in the CGC booth. I will be posting pics of the Fallen Son and Secret Invasion books I will be getting done for me and hopefully a few other Forumites.

I live in Naples, just 80 miles or so away!!! I'll see if I can make it!!

Its going to be a good local show. What I love about these types of shows is that altough they may seem crowded, overall only about 10% of attendees are comic purests (mostly anime kids) and due to that you can really spend alot of time with the different artists. Last year I even got to sit down and talk to Giordano for a few hours. The stories he has about DC and Marvel in the early days are killer

BRUNNER CHARGES $100 for a sketch

As many of you saw from my posts in the Fallen Son and Secret Invasion sketches I made out like a bandit this show. Everyone who contacted me for sketches got thier sketches done, and all books got signed.

 

Couple things to note, Pat Broderick is itching to get back to doing shows so you will probably be seeing him at a convention near you soon. He's a great guy and really takes his time sketching for fans. I picked up a total of 5 sketches from him all GREAT. (3 for me, 1 for AlexH and 1 for Kevin Boyd)

 

Frank Brunners art is amazing but the guy is a TOTAL mess. He was rude to fans and other guests and in his own world for most of the show. He basically would not put a pen to paper (sketch wise) unless he saw a ben franklin.

After dropping $200 I pretty much had to twist his arm to do a quicky sketch for fellow forumite AlexH on a Red Sonja book.

 

Ralph Cabrera, Greg Kirkpatrick and Georges Jeanty were super friendly and eager to talk to fans and sketch.

Maybe you caught Frank at a bad time. When I got a sketch at gem city a couple of years ago, he told me to name my price for a small sketch. I had also emailed him prior to the show about red sonja sketches and he answered immediately, was super polite and brought exactly what he said he would to the show.
