It looks like heavyink.com doesn't let you choose which Image Firsts you want when ordering. They just send you one of the ten

So I just re-read issue # 1 and that first page makes me wonder whether or not everything is all just some coma induced dream. I noticed Rick has a giant gaping hole blown through him near his

arm that eventually is amputated.

But then again, considering the zombie aspect is the only surreal part, I'm thinking "Nah, not a dream!"

 

Probably more likely some biological warfare cooked up in a lab by DAVIDSON!

Did he mention why Rick's holster moves from his left to right side a couple of times and Rick draws his gun to shoot using his right hand then his left then his right again?

I always wondered is there any significance to this...any one have any ideas?

I thought it was some one he knew

I actually really, really liked that device. My interpretation was that it was intended to show that Rick was a compassionate person at heart, and also that he had not come to terms with the fact that these were zombies. He treated it as though it were a suffering person and put it out of its misery. It was intended, I think to be there to point to in the future, as the characters become increasingly far away from considering or remembering that the zombies were once humans. By issue 10 or 12, Rick would no sooner mercy kill a zombie than eat one.
