Just to knock this in another direction - what was the number of #35 misprints?

Thats the one where the last page was duplicated,I think?

Is it worth more on the open market due to this or is it a *meh* kinda thing?

There's about 900 apparently. Only like 4 graded. The only 2 cgc 9.6's in existence both sold on eBay last month for $330 each

Thanks mate

Correction. Store variants have been retired after #102. I don't know what this variant is for 101 but if it is a regional variant it is one of the last.

It is not a regional variant , it is limited to 5000 and only certain stores participated

Yup, this cover is gonna be pretty sweet. It is of a leather couch located in Canada with a ton of WD CGCed books spread out across it like a bad 70s porno video. :insane:

Image should take the hit on this one, not Diamond, not Rick and not the consumers :sumo:

Image should refund Diamond's costs of the canceled orders from the LCS's. Image is the only one at fault here imo.

It's an interesting case from a legal class action perspective. On the one hand there appears to have been fraudulent concealment of the cover and misrepresentations that were detrimentally relied upon. On the other hand, what are the real damages, you got a book it just didn't have the gimick cover. At the end of the day, like this just hurts customers and retailers and retailers relationships with their customers. Neither party can afford the loss. Image and Diamond both can afford the loss and both have failed to do the honorable thing thus far and make the book returnable. We'll see how this all shakes out, but I'm guessing that either Image or Diamond will step up and do the right thing.

I'd hate to have you as my lawyer, you can't even be bothered to read back 6 posts.

Does anybody know who the Nowell Brothers are? Just did a CAF search of WD and it looks like they are buying everything in site, especially covers. Good Grief  There isn't going to be anything left for us peons :sorry:

Jim

Todd - he is a very nice guy - I sold him a cover - he has a huge collection and is slowly starting to add it to CAF - He doesnt like to sell anything - I tried to trade for one of his pages..

In other news - for all wondering about that Watkiss stuff - I'll sort it out this weekend -

I figured you all needed another Walking Dead cover situation to talk about so figured I'd mention this that I saw on my invoice for next week :)

WALKING DEAD #100 APPRECIATION SGN CVR qty 1

I have no other details...

Oh, and I talked to my Diamond rep about the Spawn 222 situation, and retailers can strip their covers and get refunded on the book, less the 10% (or whatever the return fee is)... which isn't perfect, but its better than getting completely screwed I suppose.

Mark Hay, Owner of:

Comic Asylum & Splash Page Comic Art

This is the listing on Bleeding Cool:

WALKING DEAD #100 2ND PTG (MR) $3.99

WALKING DEAD #101 (MR) [DIG] $2.99

WALKING DEAD #101 SHARED EXC (MR) $2.99

I asked him if he would consider selling any piece of art and he told me something short of "I couldn't, it's a part of my soul".

Maybe they should focus on making the regular covers and the comic content more enjoyable than taking time to make different covers for issues that have already come out. rantrant

+1 - too many variants. doh!

This will suck the fun out of it. They didn`t need all these.

I am starting to get that manufactured collectible feel about it.

hm

Agreed. It's like they said, "hey let's do it b/c we know they will buy it." And they are 100% RIGHT! :insane:
