Speculators?, Seriously, leave the boards, open the doors and go outside for a bit.

Andy don't fret over people taking this comment the wrong way. Sheesh, you'd think that using emoticons would mitigate the tension and allow people to interpret written text into emotion, thus knowing when someone typing something is either to be taken lightly or being serious.

I'm sorry you guys missed his  after that sentence, but when someone does that, that usually means they were just kidding with their previous statement. There was no need to get offended over that.

Now if he said it like "Seriously, leave the boards, open the doors and go outside for a bit  " Then you should take offense or start a stink with it. But the grinning is to say "hey bud, just playing around". And if you can't take that kind of playfulness on here, I don't think you should be discussing things on the internet with "internet friends" (or real friends for that matter) at all as you'll probably get offended by every little jab someone makes at you. Most jabs amongst friends/internet friends are to be taken lightly.

Seriously, thanks for the explaination.

Thanks Bagel.

And to Gaz, there have been one or two peeps coming on here having a pop about TWD for no reason.

When you read the same thing over and over,it becomes tiresome, I'm sure you would agree.

No names but we all see the same 5 or so every week basically implying we were a bit simple to spend so much on a book because its modern.

You aren't one of them!!

But some basically hope TWD collectors lose money to make a point.

Thats all I meant by that Gaz :foryou:

Worktime!

Cheers all.

Andy

Actually, I don't want WD collectors to lose money as they love the series and well they don't plan on selling. So in a sense there is no money to lose. Maybe a sunk cost for collecting what you like. I never came on here once stating what you mentioned. Do I think the book is worth its current value, no, but I will be proven wrong or the market will correct itself, either way it doesn't bother me. This has been a great series to read and I have enjoyed reading it, although lately it has started to jump the shark a bit.

Eh, the variants for 100 seemed to overwhelm a vast majority of walking dead collectors - but in the end they are just different covers for the SAME comic books. It's the interior that matters, not the outside wrapping.

And on that note - I just finished re-reading 70-101 and it's unbelievable how much effort and creativity was left out of the pages. Every now and again I'd see a few panels that reminded me of Adlard's old style - but it doesn't even feel like the same book. The splash pages never felt like they were effective as a full page picture, but I can't put my finger on why that is...

I really miss the silhouetted panels he use to draw.. It's these little things that made it feel like a whole different book. The storytelling seemed weak because transitions within the panels were either sloppy or drawn from unusual perspectives.

Regardless of this, I still love the series - I just think that the quality has diminished in the last few years.

Don't get me wrong though - I Love the story and that's why I can't leave the series. The last page of 101 is awesome - even if it's drawn a bit funny.

WOW...and a WD#1 9.4 sold BIN at 1299.00 on Ebay.....

Must stock up on 9.4's then lol jk but dang that is CRAZY!

Why...seriously, there are only 7266 printed, and lets be generous and say only 500 got lost along the way.

Id say a 9.4 out of 6800ish copies in the world is at the top end of the scale.

10 million people worldwide watch the show and 350,000+ copies of the #100 were sold...

Thats a lot of people!

Seems a good buy to me.

People said collectors were mad when it hit $100.

Didn't someones 9.8 go for something like $2700 odd last week - I'm pretty sure it was a boardie as well.

Unless of course prices plummet,in which case a lot of modern boardies are screwed!!...including me..

I don't think it will TBH unless something really bad happens to the comic/show.

Lets hope it doesn't.

I get totally what you are saying Ed, I thought it too when they hit $500, then $1000, then $2000 and now $2700. (thumbs u

My wife locked me in the doghouse for life after spending a total of $1600 on 3 copies last year.

Buy one Ed - you know you want to!

PS: Did you get your Revival variant in the end? Hope you do as you spotted it first - good luck mate!

Unfortunately, I didn't get the Revival from the guy but good news is I already have two sketch variants ;)

As far as Walking Dead #1 in CGC 9.4 goes, I was just kidding about stocking up on that :P

I already have three #1's in CGC 9.8 so I'm content with that :)

I am on a Charleston Chew kick lately and love me some Starbursts at all times...

Just as a heads up for rumors etc...

I just took my Walking Dead 19 OA Cover Art off of Clink. My contract was up at the end of August and think framing it and displaying it seems to be in order!

You know what would be great? Printing it in colour, just once. A nice big zombie fight. C'mon Kirkman. I know you print in in b&w to save the printers money but a colour variant maybe? I thought it might happen for issue #100 or when I heard the Walking Dead Weekly was coming out I thought, magic, this ones gonna be in colour! How wrong was I? Still love the comic thou, 2c
