HI has got to be irked about these copies showing up on the secondary market, right?

 

Probably are... and I'm sure it might also irk those who bid, won and own TWD HI sketch covers.

 

IMO if CGC does allow these blanks popping up for SS, they should not be labeled as "Hero Initiave Edition" and the description should also exclude the phrase "FOR THE HERO INITIATIVE." That's my 2c

 

I sent in two questions to ask cgc forum.....Its been days with no reply....just asked them directly what was their protocole for grading héro books that were not original héro auction books.

Or to make a statment to help clear up the issues if any.

 

Update:

Only because I feel mislead by the WD Hero books, I e-mailed CGC direct.

Also emailed Hero to help deal with the issues of me feeling mislead about these books only being available at the time of the auction. Yes I did buy a blank on the open market in the hopes of it being the one that got away.But at this point I don't think that to be the case. My little old finger that I plugged the dam with does not look like it going to hold lol . I was trying to protect the value that at one time I seen in the books.

I think around 3X the price of a 9.8 is about right for these. There are just too many out there now.

 

I'm with you on that........just to many now to hold that high dollar value.

Some where between 2 to 3x's the value IMO

Tell me about it, I ordered a Walking Dead 19 CGC 9.8 SS 3x. the delivery person was just walking from house to house placing pink "missed delivery" slips on doors. Didnt have the packages at all, just the slips.

That's crazy. I just checked the tracking number of something being shipped to someone else and it says it was delivered today Sunday Dec 22 @ 8:44am That's crazy that they are delivering on Sundays.

That's crazy. I just checked the tracking number of something being shipped to someone else and it says it was delivered today Sunday Dec 22 @ 8:44am That's crazy that they are delivering on Sundays.

 

My Wife works for Canada Post and they have been delivering parcels Saturdays and Sundays all through December... I am guessing that it is the same with the USPS

No not yet.........I only know of 7 or so books so far. As soon as facts from Hero,Image or cgc come to light I will post them.

No not yet.........I only know of 7 or so books so far. As soon as facts from Hero,Image or cgc come to light I will post them.

 

Update 12/23 : direct reply from cgc by way of email..........

A handful of them were graded before we were contacted by Hero Initiative and told that blanks were stolen and that only those done by Hero Initiative for their charity are to be graded from this point forward.

Ah....no worries here. Just looking for the facts. Looking for the number of blanks and graded copies. So collectors can have correct information in front of them. But to get the full scope you have to be a pain in the butt. So as of now if you buy a blank cgc will not grade it. Which is sad because the buyers that don't know this will pay a price. The ones that were graded after the auction IMO might be more valuable because of the story behind them. An official unofficial cgc hero copy. Now if we can find out the print run that might give an ideal to the number of blanks out there.
