Author Paul Karasik looking for Fletcher Hanks stories

Paul Karasik is considering a second volume of Fletcher Hanks reprints following the successful first volume, "I Shall Destroy All The Civilized Planets". He is looking for assistance with the following stories. Anyone that can provide full-size 600dpi scans will receive acknowledgement in the book as well as a copy of the book when released. Please PM me if you can help, and I'll forward your contact info to Paul K. Here are the stories:

Paul, I can help with the Jungle 5 and 11 but the books are in storage at the moment.

 

Not sure about the 600dpi (were the prior scans I sent you OK?), but if the need arises I can always mail the books out to you to copy.

The Buzz Crandall story that I ran in "I Shall Destroy All the Civilized Planets" was from Planet #7 and it was certainly by Hanks. Does anybody have a copy of Planet #8????? Maybe Hanks only did one Buzz Crandall tale.

 

(And will the real "Bob Jordan" pleas stand up?)

The story from Planet 2 is by Hanks. I like the bizarre stories by Hanks but I think Kiefer did some good work for those early issues of Planet. Most of the other early stories remind me of work by Briefer.

This splash from Planet 21 looks like work by Palais. I didn't check but it seems to have his touch.

O.K...Now we're getting somewhere fellow detectives.

 

Neither Buzz Crandall stories in planet #6 or #8 are by Hanks. That strange Tiger Hart IS by Hanks, however, and I just got a copy of it from another source so scratch that one off the wish list, too!

I think Gene Fawcette is given credit in the GCD. One of his stories in 6 or 8 or both is supposed to be signed but I couldn't find a signature.

The list contains a Jungle 9 story which was in the first edition. What about the earlier stories in Jungle? I love the quote from the Fantomah story from Jungle 13.

In spite of the fact that most of the early Fiction House titles do not entitle the stories, I think that Fight 7 has a story that deals with "Cut Throat Lumber Hi-jackers" in case you need to know. This info was taken from copies of fiche scans.

Paul, I sent you Fight #5 awhile back, so that can come off the list.

 

I'm in the process of picking up Fight #7 from a good samaritan forumite ( :foryou: ) to get the Hanks story. When I get it, I'll send scans of that one as well.

This isn't a very good scan of the story from Fight 7 but I think you can see that it is indeed by Hanks.
