If I had to guess I would say it's the size.

 

Almost all of Bruce's pieces are done on 8x10 or 8.5x11 paper.

 

This one is listed at 11x14.

 

If this were the smaller size it would have sold from Bruce for about $250.

 

Being that this is so relatively large and that size being a rarity for Bruce, you get the premium.

 

.......................and guys are horn dogs.

When I first saw that auction I wondered how do you tell that's Gwen Stacy and not just a nude girl? Most of Timm's nude girls aren't anyone specific.

Exactly. Doesn't have the signature headband.

 

And while I really, really like Timm's style, I could really care less about nude cartoon drawings. Each to their own, of course, but for me it's just disappointing that all I typically see of his work is nudes whereas I see very little Batman work. Ah well.

The more I think about it the value has to be the size....

 

I bought this one...standard small size for $200

But is it all size? I'd pay more for the second one because it's a better drawing. More action. Better composition.

 

And the "Gwen" drawing does nothing for me. I can appreciate a nude drawing - I've purchased one or two over the years. But this one just leaves me feeling zzz
